"Who is your favorite author?" Aleya Deatsch, 7, of West Des Moines asked Mr. Huckabee in one of those posing-like-a-shopping-mall-Santa moments.
Mr. Huckabee paused, then said his favorite author was Dr. Seuss.
In an interview afterward with the news media, Aleya said she was somewhat surprised. She thought the candidate would be reading at a higher level.
"My favorite author is C. S. Lewis," she said.
Is this satire?
Hahahahhaaaaaaa.
I don’t think so, although I didn’t chase the blog links all the way to the end.
Considering that it was a seven-year-old asking the question, I’d tend to give him a pass on this one. A gaffe, obviously, but it sounds to me like he was trying to gear his answer to her age. Does he have any grandchildren?
Dr. Seuss: A Weapon of Mass Instruction
Ha is right...we can tell what a fake and wimp he is.
“The Cat in the Hat Visits Iraq”
First the Cat makes a big mess, then he helps clean it up. Congress doesn’t notice when they return from recess.
Why wouldn’t he just tell the TRUTH about his favorite author?
yep, Hop on Pop.
Might come from this NY Times story:
...or the old Ahmadinejad favorite, “One Nuke, Two Nuke, Red Jew, Dead Jew”
This man wants to be the most powerful man in the world. No passes.
Should this derail his campaign? No, there are plenty of other issues to do that. But this is just one more example of saying what he thinks his audience wants to hear, a trait far too common in all of our politicians these days.
The Grinch Who Stole Iowa?
Would you vote for him if he were in a tree?
Would you vote for him in a boat on the sea?
Would you vote for him if he promised free Ham and peas?
I Would not! vote for him if he were in a tree!
I Would not! vote for him in a boat on the sea!
I Would not! vote for him if he promised free Ham and peas!
I would not vote for him or any of these!
I will not vote for him, that Huckabee.
You guys are good. I’ll be more thorough in my research next time I post something. =)
He could have and gotten a response of "Huh?".
I really think he was trying to 'play to the audience' and came off sounding goofy.
hillary plant???
Very nice, but I hope this ends different than the original.
