AL TAQADDUM, Iraq (Dec. 10, 2007) Engineering Aide Constructionman Devin Ahearn, of Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 1, uses a pressure washer to clean out the grooves of a pad of freshly placed concrete on a runway at Camp Taqaddum. After several years of work completed by numerous battalions, the 50-person detachment from NMCB-1 will likely complete an overhaul of one of the camp's runways later this year, which will finally bring the airfield back to full strength. NMCB-1 is deployed to several locations in the Middle East, Afghanistan and Micronesia providing responsive military construction support to U.S. Military operations. NMCB-1 is part of nearly 1,100 Sailors and Marines supporting critical construction efforts in the Al Anbar Province of Iraq. TAJ GHATZ, Iraq (Dec. 14, 2007) U.S. Marines attached to Regimental Combat Team (RCT) 6 hand out soccer balls, candy and stuffed animals to Iraqi children, during a combined medical engagement. U.S. Marines with RCT-6 and Soldiers with 5th Battalion, 7th Cavalry, are working with Iraqi forces and doctors during a combined medical engagement. U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Samuel D. Corum (Released)
PERSIAN GULF (Dec. 19, 2007) Sgt. Nathan Maasen and Aviation Machinist's Mate Airman Bryan Goodman serialize a T-58, turbo shaft engine for the CH-46E helicopter in the Hangar Bay of the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3). Kearsarge is on a scheduled deployment in support of maritime security operations. U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist Seaman Derek Poole (Released)

And a snappy SALUTE to you, my friend! Never forget that we won that war - it’s only the media and the so-called conventional wisdom that holds otherwise.
