Gore: Scientists Disagreeing with Climate Alarmism Tied to Big Oil Photo of Noel Sheppard. By Noel Sheppard | December 21, 2007 - 11:46 ET

As NewsBusters reported Thursday, over 400 scientists in 2007 "voiced significant objections to major aspects of the so-called ‘consensus' on man-made global warming."

Predictably, Nobel Laureate Al Gore dismissed this historic Senate report by stating through a representative that some of these esteemed scientists from around the world have connections to Big Oil, and, therefore, their opinions should be ignored.

Pretty amazing coming from a man that likely has made what some estimate is $100 million in the past seven years selling this canard to the public, wouldn't you agree?

As reported by the Washington Times Friday (emphasis added):

After a quick review of the report, Gore spokeswoman Kalee Kreider said 25 or 30 of the scientists may have received funding from Exxon Mobil Corp.

Exxon Mobil spokesman Gantt H. Walton dismissed the accusation, saying the company is concerned about climate-change issues and does not pay scientists to bash global-warming theories.

"Recycling of that kind of discredited conspiracy theory is nothing more than a distraction from the real challenge facing society and the energy industry," he said.

As much as Algore jets around, I’d say he is the one tied to Big Oil!

Excellent point! And what's the size of his house? 10, 12,000 square feet?

There was some report about how the global warming alarmist attendees at that Bali conference burned up more “dangerous fuel” (in the air conditioning system at the resort) than has been reported, and of course there’s the emmissions generated by the attendees’ traveling to Bali via jet airplanes. Anyone have a link to any of these reports about the Bali conference? Thanks.

So the man tied to Occidental Oil, the one who has made an estimated $40,000,000 off of AGW in the last six years, says that people who disagree with him do it out of financial interest?

The Gore who tried to purge dissenters back in ‘93?

http://www.sepp.org/Archive/controv/controversies/happer.html

“Al Gore Leads a Purge,” Wall Street Journal, May 25, 1993 has more about Algor’s efforts at consensus.

The problem with critics of big oil such as AlGore and Edwards and Ron Wyden is that they never focus on any real problems that big oil does present and never suggest any meaningful remedies. Every independent oil man knows that big oil does a lot of harmful things and will ruthlessly stamp out anyone who gets in the way but they have to keep their mouths shut because politicians like AlGore are utterly useless in terms of actual solutions. In AlGore’s case he was shown some solutions and promised to do something and then, like every
Democrat so-called leader, did nothing but waltz around with Big Environment and Ethanol and others who have no interest in actually solving the problem.

And AlGore’s attempts with slick Willy to privatize the patent office into a patronage machine controlled by their buddies so they could rake in the benefits was a disaster for solutions to the energy bind along with all small inventor-oriented entrepreneurial creators of solutions.

Hey Algore the ones touting global warming are tied to big carbon credits.

Well, at least carbon credits help erase the damage we humans inflict on Earth. /sarc

Make that - these credits assuage the guilt of lefties and give justification to the algores who 'need' their fleets of SUV's and homes and airplanes. Yeah, algore's carbon offsets erase all the damage done by his excesses (said with eyeroll). Next up - carbon offsets to protect Mars from the possible asteroid hit next month. He'll tell us where to send the funds...

He forgot Haliburton......

Or just wants us to forget. Now that he's wealthy, he can disavow his former relationship to big oil and his supposed big oil 'threat'. He knows what's best for us - why do we question him?

.... over 400 scientists in 2007 "voiced significant objections to major aspects of the so-called ‘consensus' on man-made global warming."

After a quick review of the report, Gore spokeswoman Kalee Kreider said 25 or 30 of the scientists may have received funding from Exxon Mobil Corp.

Okay Kalee, lemme see if my math still works....

"Over 400" scientists state that man-made GW is BS. But since 25 to 30 MAY have received funds from (cue spooky music) ... BIG OIL!!! ... we throw the whole thing in the trash can, right honey (sarc).

Well exsqueeze me sweetums (sarc) but 25 out of 400 is a whopping 6 1/4% (.0625) and 30 of 'over 400' would prolly be about the same percent. And deary (sarc) what about the other 375 plus scientists who did NOT 'conspire' with ... (spooky music)... BIG OIL ?!?!?! Huh Kalee, what about them?

And Kalee you dion't even know for sure if those 25 to 30 DID receive funds from ... (spooky music) ... BIG OIL!!

Sheesh, it's nonsense from the likes of this Kalee why the 19th Amendment needs repealing. This woman should be in the kitchen with an apron on baking cookies for her man, not involved in politics (and GW sure is politics, the politics of world wide socialism).
