ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI-myFOXstl.com) -- Late Wednesday night, former New York governor and Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani went to Barnes-Jewish hospital after feeling ill.
Giuliani had traveled across Missouri Wednesday by car after mechanical problems on his aircraft left him without a plane for his stumping.
The statement from the Giuliani campaign reads:
"ST. LOUIS - Rudy Giuliani Communications Director Katie Levinson released the following statement this morning:
Earlier today, Mayor Giuliani experienced flu-like symptoms campaigning in Missouri. The symptoms worsened as the day wore on and shortly after taking off from Chesterfield, Missouri for New York the Mayor became uncomfortable enough that our plane returned to the airport in Chesterfield. To be on the safe side, the Mayor consulted with his personal physician in New York and made the decision to go to the Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis for routine tests.
"The Mayor will spend the night in St. Louis and we will provide another update in the morning."
True enough.
I wish him well, have no personal animosity against him but was doubting the news it was the flu until you reminded he was recovering from cancer. Under the circumstances it well be the flu then.
I agree with you 100%!
Long story short, my father was in a hotel room by himself when he phoned and told me he wasn’t feeling well. He said he was feeling nauseated, achey, and hot. He took some Comtrex thinking he was “coming down with something.” Hours later I called to check on him; said he’d just gotten out of the shower because he was sweating so much. It wasn’t until he’d mentioned that his pain was mostly in his shoulder - thought he’d pulled something lifting heavy boxes the night before- that I wondered if he could possibly be having a heart attack.
Within minutes, I called the front desk and explained that if the hotel didn’t go into room such and such, drag my father out and into a hotel van, and take him to the emergency room, that they might be pulling out a dead body very soon.
Scans showed that my father lost 2/3 of his heart function because so much time had passed since his heart attack began.
I’m just saying.
No fan but a quick recovery for the mayor.
Plane broke down and then he had to go to the hospital! Just a bad day all around for Guiliani.
He's definately NOT my guy (ever), yet I do hope he gets better soon. I got sick the day before putting on the Thanksgiving feast and was down almost three (crucial to preparing for Christmas!) weeks.
The radio news just said he was checked out and it was nothing serious.
Ironically, I have my CPR class tomorrow. This morning, a vein in my left arm drank a bag of fluid (500 ml of lactated ringer's). This afternoon I became Combat LifeSaver (CLS) qualified.
Not a fan, but hope he gets his health back quickly.
No matter my differences, I wish him no suffering.
Now Hillary on the other hand,,,,,
Congrats on your certification.
For the longest time I was averaging at least two CPR classes a week. Just remember there is a huge difference between a combat triage and a civilian triage scenario.
Uuuuummmmm! Hospital food. Enjoy it Rudy. LOL
Heh... indeed. Someone make sure she gets a big portion of the salmon mousse, okay?
I’m glad to hear Rudy Giuliani is better.
It will be disappointing news to the vultures here, but good news to patriotic Americans who remember that he IS “America’s Mayor” and who hold 9/11 sacred.
God bless you, Mr. Mayor, and have a Merry Christmas.
Do high-powered people often go in for immediate treatment lest they lose valuable time? I miss a few days at work, I lose a few hundreds of bucks. If Super Powerbroker misses a few days, he loses tens of thousands.
He’s in a good hospital. But I’m thinking I need to say “Rudy’s fault” that our household has a round of sickness going thru. :-P
GUESS WHO'VE THEY GOT NOW...HUCKSTER...THEY'VE CREATED THIS MONSTER...HE IS NOTHING MORE THAN A DONKEY IN REPUBLICAN CLOTHING...
Flu like symptoms are not serious for most people. But if Rudy has an underlying issue (e.g., HIV positive), these symptoms require the kind of prompt attention he’s getting.
You should request that your post be removed. That kind of innuendo is inappropriate.
I’m hoping the Huckabee “surge” proves to be flimsy.
But yes, I see how the monster was created.
And, if ill were to befall him I wouldn’t use that as an occasion to defame.
When an opinion eclipses one’s humanity, that opinion is worthless.
I thought only the terrorists allowed that of themselves.
I would hate to hear about his problems if he had diarrhea and a socialistic medical program. He would have to wait several months in the hospital before being medicated.
Tough luck, Rudy.
