Aide: Candidate to take money and 'try to spread the message of freedom'

Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul has received a $500 campaign donation from a white supremacist, and the Texas congressman doesn't plan to return it, an aide said Wednesday.

Don Black, of West Palm Beach, recently made the donation, according to campaign filings. He runs a Web site called Stormfront with the motto, "White Pride World Wide." The site welcomes postings to the "Stormfront White Nationalist Community."

Bush denounced the unsolicited endorsement.

And so did RP.

NO! When you denounce someone, you don't take their money.

What I don’t understand that is if Paul has raised so much cash as his supporters keep touting, what difference is that $500 going to make? Would it hurt them that much to give it back? Or are they THAT greedy?

His campaign has made the point that it’s $500 that the white supremacists have, so what he should do is donate the money to a Black charity.

NO! When you denounce someone, you don't take their money.

Take their money, denounce them, ask them for more. Much more.

We really should target these Nazis to donate at least a hundred grand to Dr. Paul. Racist cheapskates! Just more fiat money for our sinister plan for blimp world supremacy.

I see two Ron Paul items in breaking news....the breaking news section is usually very heavy moderated with many important things removed from it before. These two stories are rather minor.

I see even the Admins here are now biased against Dr. Paul. Dr pauls believes in the Constitution..I have been a member here under different names since 1999 and at one time this site use to also believe in the Constitution.

Now it tries to smear the only candidate that does.

I will not be posting here anymore in the future expect perhaps in this thread.

It has been fun here over the years and yes that was me that started the “series” with my typo in a breaking news headline about a Chicago fire under the name newsperson999..

Best of luck to you all

Well, stick around. You can go poof with the rest of us in Purgefest 2008. Well, if the Paul-haters can finally talk the mods into a mass banning of RP supporters. You know they’ve been trying. They even offered to donate to the forum for a mass purge a while back.

Why give in so easily? You’re a FReeper and no way does that sit well with you. So stick around.

Want to join the Pinglist Of The Damned in the meantime? We do have a lot of fun, a lot more than some of the sad sack Paul-haters here.

Guess this explains why the Ron Paul blimp looks so much like the Hindenburg.

Yeah, but RP doesn’t use force. People give it to him freely.

Yeah, just like people pay millions for on-line porn, sex from prostitutes, etc. They freely pay for it.

But the providers are still bottom feeders.

Unless Ron Paul supports Stormfront this has the odor of guilt by association. Paul has been in national politics for about 20 years and his interests were hard money and various other libertarian pet ideas. Suddenly we’re supposed to believe that all this time old Ron Paul had a shrine to Hitler in his closet.

Yeah, I'm not really in line with either the pro-Paul or anti-Paul fanatics. I think we need to be discussing his ideas, because many of them are good--admittedly, they won't win a presidential contest in this day and age. Ron Paul simply will not win the presidency next year. Worse off is Alan Keyes, and I think I like Keyes better.

Michael Medved has been one of the more prominent critics calling Paul a Nazi based on Paul’s Stormfront fanclub. Of course you can’t always choose your fans, but you certainly can choose whom you are a fan of. And back when Paul was an unknown doctor Medved was already in politics, working for the Castroite Ron Dellums. This was after Medved had been helping Hanoi implement it’s campaign of defeating America on the homefront via the Anti War rallies, of which Medved was a leader.

In fairness, Dr. Paul should acknowledge--in some way or another--that some very despicable sources have contributed to his campaign and currently support him. That isn't to say that he is guilty by association, but a lot of us would like to hear him denounce the Truthers and Neo-Nazis--even if they do bring in the bucks for his presidential campaign; not to exclude the other candidates, as there is certainly enough to go around.

I’m not a Ron Paul fan, but I do find the current campaign by Medved and his comrades to smear the man to be contemptible.

You and I are of like mind when it comes to polarization of the Israel/Palestine matter. I don't dislike either Paul or Medved, but it seems we're getting a lot of that same over-the-top hyperbole when it comes to Ron Paul's candidacy. I joke sometimes, talking about "RONPAUL!!!" threads and using an ambiguous line like "Ron Paul is a punk,"--Johnny Ramone, one of my favorite minimalist guitar players, was a solid right-winger, and he was a punk, too--but the whole thing's become too insane for words.

Yes, there is a lot of support for Paul on Stormfront. I've seen it for myself, and don't quite get why they love him so much, other than the possibility of hijacking illegal immigration as a plank in some third party platform. The Truthers love him because they've stopped believing in Jesus and see Paul as the anti-government Messiah; one to set things aright and expose "the truth."

Frankly, the whole thing is a circus, and I don't know why I even bother.

I’ve read through stormfront, and this isn’t a crowd of people conservatives should ever see as reputable. Marginalize them and avoid them.

Ron Paul should do the same, if he wants any reputation at all.

Ron Paul isn't the one talking about them. He's ignoring them.

If Paul spends this money on his campaign he’s no better than the racist who donated it.

Did you know the federal and state governments spend lots of money from Black and people like him?

Did you know that Black's money helps support the Iraq war?

Are you going to call for the IRS to give Black back his money too? Or are you only focused on Paul for whatever reason?

Are we going to get into name calling?

If so then you can have the last word.

I don’t remember calling you any names.

Didn't see Ron Paul on the Stormfront pages.

Visited the site--European descended racists are a shy bunch. Hiding around politeness, civility, and all....

They seem to be basically a get-non-European-descendants-out-of-the-USA group who attack those of African descent more than those of other descents (including Jews, who they believe are plotting to take over the world).

People are so stupid.

Why can’t Ron Paul donate the money to the Negro College fund or something like that?
