Russian people support him en masse quite naturally: because of their nature of serfs and subjects. ==

It is the racial slur. You should be reprimanded.

Seriously? It's for the first time that I hear about some Russian race... I knew about Caucasian, Mongoloid, Negroid races - but not about a Russian one.

In the reality, my point is historical. For many centuries subjects of different empires, including the Communist one, that occupied the territory of what now is known as Russia, had no occasion (any substantial period of time) to develop the civic traits. Serfdom was, and still is, the only reality they knew and lived in.

Unfortunately, they came to like it. Loyal and devoted to the master slave is a happy one - in his own way. That's why they're cheering Putin so sincerely.

As to the choice of the label for the master - dictator or authoritarian - it doesn't matter. Rulers of that vast territory called themselves tzars, emperors, grand dukes and general secretaries, presidents and chairmen of the supreme council; there was one generalissimo, too. So what? Now Putin is choosing a title for himself under which to continue to govern... he may even invent something new, like "The Leader of the Nation" (it's shorter in German - Fuhrer).

Because of the lack of free citizens, free individuals among his subjects, it won't make any real difference

When liberal lawmaker Sergei Yushenkov was gunned down outside his Moscow apartment building last month, prosecutors were quick to say the case would be solved “in short order.”==

Yushenkov is the old news. He was killed by his own comrades of democrates who fought with his for Berezovskii money. Guy who ordered his hitting already in jail.

Who ordered the kill of Politkovskaya nobody knows at this point. Russian investigators caught the real hitmen but they couldn’t apprehand the orderers yet. We should wait and see who will comeout.

What Economists say is mostly gossips and fairy tales. You like it? You eat it. As for me I’m insider and do not need no Economists exxagarations to know the truth.

I’m with Putin when he kicks out those who stole Russian national treasures during mirky 90th. But I know that Putin is authoritarian. And he took many for himself. They say he has about $40 blns capital. At least he is capitalist.
So I have my doubts of cause.

But the problem is that I do not see none now who really can be exchange Putin team in power. AFAIK Putin still the best for the job.

Again, I provide links, you don’t provide anything but your own perception on what you think is going on. This is something that might pass for the truth in your fun country of Russia, but not here.

About the only reason they aren’t able to identify who ordered this killing is because they don’t want to identify Putin as making that order. But this is just my opinion.

Try again.

Putin is no Capitalist, he is a thief. He has acquired his approx. $40bln from stealing it from the Russian treasury.

All criminals are authoritarian. They have to be to steal and to keep all that they have stolen.

You think you may be an insider? A Russian insider? And you are proud of that?

This is why your form of government is NOT a representative republic like ours, and this is why others in this thread have stated exactly what you said, the Russians deserve a totalitarian government, because Russians are comfortable being serfs.

Now post one link to a story that supports any of your wild claims.

Partially I agree with you. Putin indeed robbed the first place thiefs and robbers like Khodorkovskii/Berezovskii or his ilk but the procedings he took for himself and his friends. But anyways the most publics think that Putin is better then those who were before him. Because that so-called “democrates” was outright thieves and plunderers much more scale then Putin.

This is why your form of government is NOT a representative republic like ours, and this is why others in this thread have stated exactly what you said, the Russians deserve a totalitarian government, because Russians are comfortable being serfs.==

Accually it is not true. Russians simply try to choose between 2 evils and take lesser. Russians are realists.

Now post one link to a story that supports any of your wild claims.==

What wild claims? I know the innner life of russia much better then those authors you read on Inet. I live in Moscow now. And I know as inseder when those articles poseted here tell rubbish but when they tell some sense.

Richard Stengel, Time's managing editor, said the 2007 honor went to the Russian leader "for an extraordinary feat of leadership in taking a country that was in chaos and bringing it stability."
Y'know, stability -- that thing that doesn't matter if the dictator is non-Marxist or is pro-US.

90% of KPRF members are also members of the “Our Russia” Party, which is Putin’s Party. They have instructions to vote for Putin.
