RUDY Giuliani is no oil painting, nor is John McCain. Fred Thompson may have cracked it in Hollywood, but he's hardly leading man material.
Barack Obama has those ears to contend with, while every time Joe Biden opens his mouth it's like watching an old episode of Mr Ed. Even pretty boy John Edwards is starting to show signs of wear.
But according to the US's leading radio shock jock, Rush Limbaugh, it all matters little for the male presidential candidates, because when men age they look "more authoritative, accomplished and distinguished".
What does matter, says Limbaugh, is that Hillary Clinton, who turned 60 in October, is starting to wrinkle.
So on Monday, on a radio show with an audience of 14.5 million, Limbaugh asked this question about the former first lady's presidential prospects: "Will Americans want to watch a woman get older before their eyes on a daily basis?"
The inspiration for this misogynistic king hit, one that says much about the kind of attention Senator Clinton can expect if she eventually becomes the Democratic nominee, was an unflattering photograph of her taken on the campaign trail in freezing New Hampshire at the weekend.
The image was featured prominently on the home page of the Drudge Report website under the heading, "The Toll of the Campaign", and Limbaugh - whose past commentaries on Senator Clinton's campaign have included references to her "testicle lock box" - seized on its popular cultural significance.

"As you know, the haughty John Kerry Botoxed his wrinkles out during the (2004) campaign.

"I'm not running because I'm a woman," she said in a recent interview. "I'm running because I think I'm the best qualified person."

...I’m with you...how someone looks shouldn’t be an issue-
Oh, I see now. The weather was at fault for that skin.
Double standard. It’s so pervasive, it’s hard to fight.
“...I prefer that we pick on the Hildebeast for her character, personality, policies, crimes etc. So what if she is ugly, fat, sweats a lot and has bad breath.”
I agree. I care more about her Marxist policies than her cankles and and crusty pantsuit.
BFD. It's a "whole picture" kinda thing. Some ladies age well, some do not. Men too, though (IMO) the contrast between the "best" and the "worst" isn't as great.
In hildebeeste's case, though, we've got years of bile, vitriol, Pride, Avarice, Lust (for power), and Anger just shining through ...
It's not pretty.
Or better yet...the new Joker.
A bit of an understatement. Maybe too much sun when she was young?
Rush is correct about how the Presidency ages a man. I think he's correct that the populace is not interested in watching Hillary age (even with the help of cosmetic surgery on the taxpayer's dime plus all those soft filters that the TV people use.)
Thanks!
It annoys me, because when folks throw these scattershot rocks at women’s appearance -— even Hillary, lots of good, decent Freeperette get hit with those rocks (not saying good or even remotely decent).
Slamming anyone for their looks, even Helen Thomas...who is 87 for cryinoutloud! What is she supposed to look like! Is just, well...ugly.
So the only candidate whose looks this guy didn't impeach are Mitt Romney's...
Try to remember your outrage when we’re beating up on puffy old Algore ... or Michael “Jabba” Moore.
Can anyone say “Hag factor”...
Argh,
I’m not good or always decent (was what I meant to say)
Live by the medium, die by the medium. It is generally agreed that Nixon beat JFK during their debates - on the radio and lost them on TV. This is a visual age and we live in the entertainment country. The more affable candidate will eventually win, whomever that may be. Looks help.
I’m annoyed with those too——
So I’ll jump in when some makes fun of fat men (or women).
And that was Rush's larger point which was left out here. Before commenting on Hillary, Rush was pointing out that our society is obsessed with female beauty, conditioned by the media, and little else female. He further said that since the miles are starting to show on HIllary, big time, how is this going to play in the society and media driven political arena in which she's chosen to compete.
It’s not about her,
its about us.
I'd say "feel free to jump on me any time you like" ...
But I don't want to be misconstrued.
