'Mosque' Uncovered on College Campus

A Minnesota community college has "a Muslim place of worship" featuring "a schedule for Islam's five daily prayers," according to a local newspaper columnist who visited the campus.

Tax-supported Normandale Community College in Bloomington, Minn., also has a "sign requesting that shoes be removed" and a barrier that divides men's and women's "prayer spaces," writes Katherine Kersten of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

College officials denied it was anything more than a "meditation" room available for "all faiths."

The description of the facility, however, led one faculty member to tell Kersten the room is "unprecedented" and "goes beyond religious toleration."

"For all practical purposes, this meditation room is essentially a Muslim prayer room," said Chuck Chalberg of Normandale's history faculty.

WND has reported on "accommodations" for Muslims in public institutions, such as schools and airports, and the outrage triggered by the expenditure of public funds on a religion-specific facility.

At Normandale, Kersten reported, an "arrow informed worshippers of the direction of Mecca, and literature urged women to cover their faces."

When college officials are caught doing something they know is a violation of laws or ethics we can always rely on them to lie and prevaricate.

These people have not broken the mold when they lie about the room being a "...meditation room for all faiths".

I would like to see a good size group of Christians and Jews call their bluff and start to use the room for meditation on a regular basis, complete with Christian crosses, Bibles, Torahs, etc.
And of course, males and fmales together with no burkas and veils allowed.

Afterwards, on the solstice, turn it over to the Wiccans, who will dismantle the wall, make a bonfire out of the remnants (using the nearby piles of pamphlets as kindling, of course), and dance around it.?

The ACLU is transparently in bed with Islam, and needs to be called on it far and wide.

Maybe someone could contact the closest Asatru Garth and suggest this as a venue for some ceremonial activities. Or maybe the Pastafarians?

I would go myself if it were closer. I am a Brownian (as in John Moses) so I need room to set up a temporary 50ft pistol range for my worshipful meditation.

How about a blind person with seeing eye dog decides to use the room for meditation? ( Dogs are seriously "unclean" in Islam).

Any attempt at eviction can prompt an Americans with Disabilities Act lawsuit

I bet there are foot baths in nearby restrooms too ....all on the taxpayer’s dime. Imagine the stink the ACLU would make if that “meditation space” was being used for Christian services.

One more 9/11 type terrorist attack in America and all of this foolishness will come to a screeching halt and every one of these camel jockeys will have to pack up his koran and family and go back to whatever hellhole they originated from.
Our ancestors didn’t risk life & limb to come to this country just so a bunch of muzzies could come here, terrorize our women & children and make hamburger out of our families.

Well,

America, you have it all wrong! Separation of church and state (a notion that is debatable) only applies for Christians. Multicultural events, rooms for “meditation,” an other special non-Christian type activities are OK. /sarc
