"The question is, why did the Greatest Generation spoil their kids so badly?" I submit my "Pendulum Effect" theory: The Greatest Generation lived the depression; they had "nothing". So when the War was won and the '50's boomed, they went way too far in making sure their kids had "everything". [Again, I am not a psychologist, I just play one on FR.]
