Bill Clinton Says Obama Isn’t Ready (On Drudge)

Former President Bill Clinton made an unusually direct attack Friday night on Senator Barack Obama, one of his wife’s leading rivals for the Democratic presidential nomination, suggesting that voters who would support someone with Mr. Obama’s experience were willing to “roll the dice” on the presidency.

Appearing on “The Charlie Rose Show” on PBS, Mr. Clinton repeatedly questioned Mr. Obama’s preparedness for the White House, noting that he took office in January 2005 and became a presidential candidate about two years later. (Mr. Obama was an Illinois state senator before that.)

“When is the last time we elected a president based on one year of service in the Senate before he started running?” Mr. Clinton said. At another point, he appeared to compare Mr. Obama to a “gifted television commentator” running for president. “They’d have only one year less experience in national politics” than Mr. Obama, he said......."

The country "rolled the dice" twice in recent years--in 1976 and 1992--and is still paying for it in terms of international problems.

In 1962 the noted historian Arthur Schlesinger, Sr., polled historians asking them to rank the Presidents. The top five in that poll were Lincoln, Washington, FDR, Wilson, and Jefferson. None of those men spent a day in the Senate; Lincoln had one term in the House. Of course 4 of the 5 had had executive experience--Washington commanding the Continental Army, and FDR, Wilson, and Jefferson as governors. (Wilson also as a university president.)

So the Clintons are saying Obama is still in diapers, not even potty trained.

Bill’s right, Obama isn’t ready, but getting called unfir for the office by a guy who spent more time going after Bill Gates than Osama bin Laden must be like having a dwarf tell you that you can’t play linebacker in the NFL.

I missed the Hillary pic when I commented before...Dang, my grandmother looked better than that when she died of kidney failure at the age of 86. And no, I’m not kidding.

The campaign is grinding her down. She does not look like a winner.

The good news is that I get more and more confident each day of our chances of beating her or Obama.

With all this talk of experience, where the heck is Bill Richardson? He sure doesn’t want the job very badly or he’d be out there stating that he HAS had the experience and is the candidate the dems are looking for. Talk about inept - either he’s got a lousy campaign manager or he’s a rabbit that jumped into the race without the intent to win.

Remember this important fact:

The democrats ALWAYS state the opposite of the truth. It’s called “projection” - and according to Charles Krauthammer (who’s a licensed psychologist), it’s a condition wherein the Clintons (liberals) always accuse their enemies of being or doing exactly what the Clintons (liberals) are really guilty of.

Having said that .. Bill Clinton has just now revealed that his wife “Isn’t Ready”.

These liberals are so predictable it’s scarry.

And .. is everybody ready to have another Christmas tree decorated with drug pipes and condoms ..??

I’m wondering if that picture was photoshopped. She doesn’t look that haggard in the debates.

And, we can't even use this in an ad against Hussein in the general election. Everyone knows Bill Clinton is a liar--so the quote is meaningless.

So the Clintons are saying Obama is still in diapers, not even potty trained.

That's so unfair. Obama has been potty trained for at least four months.

"...Then there’s Al Gore waiting in the wings if neither of them can cut it..."

When all this electioneering foolishness started way too early last year, and I saw the list of candidates for the dims, Cicero, I told the BW, Mata-Sherry that the 'default' candidate would wind-up being the algore.

Fresh batteries, and he's good-to-go .......................... FRegards

As inexperienced as Obama is, he only has 6 years less experience in the senate than Hillary and I bet he has more total experience than Hillary as a elected official i.e. years in state government.

You make a good point, but the experience of any potential GOP nominee will dwarf his, and more importantly he will sound like a moron on foreign policy every time he opens his mouth.

And our country will never be ready for Hillary, either.

More than enough reason to oppose him.

But not until after the primaries. ; )

This could be Hussein's big chance to perform his greatest service to this nation by taking out the witch in the primaries. Keep hoping!

If Gore wants in he better move quick.

You know, I think he's got it pretty good where he is. He can spew all he wants, get paid well for it, and no one will lock him up for being a complete nutjob. I almost wonder if this is kind of a socialist bribe to keep him sidelined during this election.
