We lost another WWII vet this week with the passing of my dad. He’s in the 10th panel. He was seriously wounded in Saipan but it never stopped him from providing for us and being a remarkable father. He is now reunited with my mom who we lost 3 years ago. God bless our military men and women past and present.

John 14:1-3
1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also
in me.
2In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so I
would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and
receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

I love you, dutchess, and I've been thinking about you so much lately. Know you have a
picture of their reunion in your heart as they celebrate this Christmas together again.
Thank to to all our military men and women - then and now.

I find myself lacking the “right thing to say” at the passing of a loved one, so I’ll just offer up I’m so sorry for your loss.
Ya know, way back when I was going through Boot Camp, we had drills we did on the “grinder” in preparation for our graduation ceremony. Imagine about 2000 young men all doing the “16 count manual arms.” Everyone was in synch, each one making the precise movement at the same time.
The Battalion Chief would be on the loud speaker barking orders at us. One command, said often about “Present Arms” was that Present Arms was the highest honor we could render to Old Glory under arms. In other words, do it right!
That said, to your Daddy, I offer up...
Present Arms!..... two.

God bless the soul of your Dad, Dutchess. I am sorry to hear of your loss, but I am glad you have so many loving memories to cherish. I even went to look for his picture in our Hall of Heroes, a handsome man.
It is not easy to lose a loved parent. I know, as my Mother passed away 5 years ago and I think of her more at the holidays, can even feel her presence. May God comfort you and hold you close.
