Actually I doubt BJ craved it as much as his wife did. If he did, he both hid it very well and he looked at it as a contest that he somehow was able to win. America does not favor candidates that crave the Presidency.

That is hurting both HilaryCare and Rudy. I am predicting that Fred will win this thing simply by his ability to think on his feet. He has the Reagan one liners which are very effective.

I totally disagree with you.....that is NOT what Romney said !!

He said they register but that gives them no more priority or guarantee to stay or to be citizens ...including their children born here !!

Employers need rules to follow and after those rules are established ...if they do not follow them ...then employers get fined !!

It is the employers who will do the enforcement on illegals, under threat of fines & penalties ...you really think the government can do that ...or send them back !!

“yeah i agree with that. i just want to know WHY Thompson is running for President.

In the beginning of his campaign he explained that there were some things he really would like to do for the country that one can only do as president.

Since then Thompson has outlined his policies on reversing the immigration problem, national security, lowering taxes, reforming government and supporting conservative values in general.

To talk about immigration is suicide. Anything short of execution for illegals/farmers will be twisted into “Shamnesty” and put the candidate in a hole.

This "fire in the belly" crap is just more media spin. The MSM has tried to shape our perceptions of the candidates and influence our vote. The idea that someone would put themselves and his family through the personal scrutiny and exhausting efforts of campaigning entailed in running for President and not want to occupy the office is nonsense.

The MSM employs a whack-a-mole strategy against Rep candidates. They want to discredit every Rep and they do that by building them up and tearing them down. The MSM wants to discourage Rep voters about the quality and electability of its candidates.

In point of fact, the Rep Party has fielded one of its best slate of candidates in a Presidential campaign lacking an incumbent President or VP. Unlike the Dems, we really have a choice between candidates and where they stand on the issues. There are significant differences. The Dem candidates march in lockstep on the issues with each trying to outdo the other's Me-tooism.

Morning Bah. I see you have the same take I do. 15 minutes on trying to expose Romney’s religious views despite the Dems arguing that religious symbols should be removed from public places and religion should not be used as a litmus test. That said, Russert proceeds to explore [expose] Romney’s personal religious views.

Hey, Timmy, your church treats women as second class citizens. BTW, how many female Catholic priests are there, Tim?! Oh, and Tim would you ignore the Pope if he was speaking ex Cathedra?! Religion is personal [and often quirky. I can say that as an Episcopalian, which has many quirks!]

Tim has no problem invoking Romney’s family members. Would he ask Hillary about the rape charges against husband, Bill?! I don’t think so.

Tim is not asking Mitt Romney’s political views, he is conducting a hit job to try and ruin his chances in Iowa.

IMHO

Whilst I agree with I can understand McCain having been a prisoner of war maybe it is one of those issues like in business you should declare an interest and not be able to take part in the debate or vote.

Great post MM and lots of others will stand right behind you.

Truth is Col.Russell is a Viet Nam vet, Iraqi I,and he and his 6 month pregnant wife were both in the Pentagon during 911 so they both have more than paid their dues to God and country.(Ironically Russell's father-in-law was credited with helping get rid of communism in Poland as well, ). This family is made up of true patriots from top to bottom we need candidates like him and he needs all of our support!!

Which would you say is more important in a candidate—the way he looks and how fast he talks or the things he believes and what he says he’ll do as president (as supported by his record)?

Bill is notorious for trashing people until they appear on his show. He did this with Kerry four years ago. And then took credit for Kerry's loss saying if Kerry had been on the show more, he might have won.

Bill if full of crap.

You haven’t read much of FR have you. Romney won’t pull together the GOP at all.

Oh sorry about that!

I thought you were asking about Romney. I didn’t pay attention to what post you were referring to.

Anyways the question was something like, “How would you deal with illegal immigration?”

Thompson answer was just close the boarders, use new technology to find out if people are illegals so they don’t get jobs. He said we shouldn’t round up illegals, or fill our jails with illegals. He basically didn’t have a real definite answer on what to do with the illegals that are here now. He said Americans are more worried about the millions of more illegals that will come.

Mr. Romney has shown that he is the person who can pull all parts of the GOP together. NRO and David Keane of the ACU say the same.

He won me over today.

"a fee is not a tax"

In one example today, Mitt cited freeway exit ramp adverts for food and gas that we all see. The annual fee was $200, which is like giving it away. They raised it dramatically. This instance is definitely NOT a tax.

He says many of his fee increases were not broad-based, and could arguably not be called taxes. ??? FWIW

Huckabee is on CNN now, talking about his latest comments about Bush. Wolf sounds happy that Huck was taking on Bush.
