“Fox News and especially in Brit for their very strange and incomprehensible fear or dislike of Fred”

It may be two things: 1. Thompson rarely does interviews with Fox News. 2. When he does interviews with Fox he does them by avoiding their big time slots....Bill Oreilly and Hannity and Colmes.

Thats probably why Fox News isnt so excited about Thompson.

Mitt ought to reply, “I’m not running to be chief priest. Would you stop wasting my time and ask a question about politics? Something people care about, like...”

This is where they are going to have to go from here on out, I do believe. They need to take the lead in forcing the media to stop beating this dead horse.

Can you believe the media hysteria about this baseball thing?

I am so not interested in that. Well, I am mildly interested, but only to the extend that I might read an article in the paper about it.

It’s not the end of the world as we know it.

Bubba is going to learn very quickly that a sitting president can get away with being a mean spirited nasty little sH!t a lot easier than a disgraced ex-president can.

Have you seen this article about Mrs. Mike Huckabee? There's a 180 degree difference in her public demeanor of being the shy, retiring ("submissive"?) little preacher's wife that she plays in public.

Here

I think we all should get our popcorn and snuggle up as Huckabee of the ole shucks, good ole boy smile starts to implode.

Damn but the Drive-bys love him don’t they?

And yet, he’s going nowhere.

Timmy starts the Romney interview with religion. Next question is about religion. Third item is about religion. Fourth question is about religion.

As Russert attempts to paint the Romney campaign as a religious zealot, Romney strikes back by saying he isn't running as "Pastor In Chief." Romney is comfortable and clear in his responses.

Romney’s passivity is another handicap. I have a hard time seeing him win a gutter fight with The Beast.

Strongly disagree. Romney has conviction, imho. Hillary has none. Mitt will know all the facts and be capable of winning arguments on logic/merit alone. Hillary will have neither facts/logic nor conviction. I suspect Mitt's business successes are largely based on his determination. I don't see him backing down from anything.

Well, the truth is Duncan Hunter never really got on the radar.

The Old Man, very conservative but not a wonk, always says, “who’s that?’ if I mention Duncan Hunter. And he is relatively well informed to the extent that anyone who doesn’t read Free Republic can be (ha)

I would like to see Duncan get a high-profile job in Fred’s administration which would put him more in the spotlight and then he might be able to make a move later.

To be fair to Brit, he sees behind the scene stuff that we don't. Freds campaign, so far, has been lacking.

Two examples of this are his campaigns failure to give credence to either Iowa or New Hampshire. Saying they really didn't matter as much as South Carolina. And then magically in the past two weeks, now they have decided that Iowa was important (maybe because he was loosing ground in SC?). He is currently, according to Rasmussen at 2% in NH. Behind Paul and Tancredo.

The other example of his campaign "not gaining traction", is the fact that this week, they failed to even get on the Delaware ballot. The requirements for getting on the ballot are 500 signatures, yet they only mustered up 281 (many of those are also being disqualified, so the final number will be less). Delaware is a Super Tuesday primary, a organized campaign would not just "write it off".

Having said all that, only time will tell if his campaign can pull it off, but at this point his campaign (not the candidate, the campaign) has not been overly impressive. Because in the end, it's not the message, it is the presentation of that message that matters in elections.

Like I said a little further upthread, Huck’s about to go down and we should be ready with the popcorn.

I got my finger in the air down this way and I’ve yet to find any REPUBLICANS who are nuts about Huck.

Lots of Dems like him though.

Heh.

“When he does interviews with Fox he does them by avoiding their big time slots....Bill Oreilly and Hannity and Colmes.”

Not true - Fred is not avoiding O’reilly. I believe Bill is truly afraid of Fred. A Fred victory means Hannity and O’Reilly command less clout in the world going forward. Fred’s disdain for the MSM causes them, especially Fox News, to quake in their boots for fear of being marginalized.

Oh, no, Sasha is back? I had hoped that she had gone to work for one of the campaigns.

You are correct. She is without a doubt one of the nastiest dems on TV.
