December 15, 2007 -- The most prominent newspaper in the state of Iowa threw its weight behind Republican Sen. John McCain and Democratic Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton last night.
The Des Moines Register's editorial board endorsed the two for the 2008 Iowa Caucuses, calling them the "most competent and ready to lead" among all the candidates.

This issue of the Des Moines Regurgitator is worst than most.
It's not even worthy of being placed in the bottom of a bird cage.

What is the attraction liberals have to McCain? I had one tell me that although Rudy was closer to his beliefs he still liked McCain????

Curious, isn’t it?
It may be that they believe inside that McCain can be less of a problem for Hillary to beat.
But she will beat Rudy like a drum.

How prominent is any newspaper? This one's editor is now nationally known (briefly) only for her Nurse Ratched imitation, getting slapped down by Fred, and for acting like a schoolmarm who doesn't photograph well from behind. She has more recognition for these things than for all the editorials she ever wrote or ever will.

Is it just me or is it the media that's telling us we want McCain, we want Huckabee, we want Paul, "look how great they're doing"
Personally, since the media is telling me "you don't want Fred Thompson, where is he?" that's exactly who I do want, or Duncan Hunter.
They don't cover who republicans should want to fool the uninformed masses into thinking they shouldn't want them.

They back the beast because of who THEY are: the ratmedia and she is their candidate.
They back juan mckenndy (Media Az.)because of who THEY are: the ratmedia and he is their candidate.
Actually backing juan was just moving their lips and saying nothing. They knew they HAD to endorse someone and they truly believe their endorsement means something, so they back the one GOPer they plausibly could that they KNOW has no chance. That way they move their lips and say nothing they think could be helpful to any real GOP candidate.

She's also a rancidly inept journalist. Any good interviewer, be she a journalist or a lawyer taking a deposition, will immediately shift questioning if an opportunity to provide more information or exploit a weakness presents itself. When Fred refused to raise his hand, she should have asked him to explain his position on GW. That could have set off a lively debate between him and McCain. By leaving immigration and national security completely off the table, she foreclosed a discussion of the two most vital issues of this campaign. When it came to the DemonRats, she never bothered to challenge the Witch on any of her dirty campaign tricks. In short, that woman is an atrocious journalist.
