An elementary student in Marion County was arrested Thursday after school officials found her cutting food during lunch with a knife that she brought from home, police said.
The 10-year-old girl, a student at Sunrise Elementary School in Ocala, was charged possession of a weapon on school property, which is a felony.
According to authorities, school employees spotted the girl cutting her food while she was eating lunch and took the steak knife from her.
The girl told sheriff's deputies that she had brought the knife to school on more than one occasion in the past.
Students told officials that the girl did not threaten anyone with the knife.
The girl was arrested and transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center.

It's a cover up. The school's trying to hide the fact she needed a knife to cut the mashed potatoes.

This girl deserved mercy. Thank God that He treats His creatures with more mercy and forgiveness.
Repeat: sending your child to public school is prima facie child abuse.
In my school days the city kids had to go home for lunch. The country kids brought a sack lunch and ate at the school.
All common sense and using sound judgment has totally and utterly left the public schools.
It’s time for our kids to do the same. I don’t think I’d actually make it through school today. I was an honors student taking multiple advanced placement tests and never got into any trouble. But I carried a swiss army knife around. We joked within our group and called each other ‘fag’ and ‘gay’. They want to turn kids into criminals for this petty crap.
And for all you pro-homos out there who complain of being harrassed, EVERYONE gets picked on - you don’t have a monopoly on it by far, you’re not THAT important. Everyone, gay or not, gets called ‘fag’ and ‘you’re gay’. If you are gay, then they’re right - you ARE gay. Try being accused of something you’re NOT!!!
The kids who get picked on pick on other kids too. Does it suck? You bet. Do you commit suicide over it? Why give them the satisfaction? In ten years those punks are probably nowhere in a dead-end job or fat from having babies. If not so they kept their eating disorder.

That is a peaceful and restrained alternative to my original thought: Take baseball bats and club them to death like so many Harbor seals.
