LOS ANGELES, CA, December 14, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Barbara Walters likes to receive Christmas greetings from high-profile celebrities and leaders, but apparently not if they refer to the Bible.
On Thursday's episode of ABC's The View, Walters expressed dismay that President and Mrs. Bush would send out greetings containing Scripture.
During the segment, Walters showed the other gals some of the "highfalutin Christmas cards," and explained the White House card:

Let’s make that: America was discovered, founded, settled, and established by Christians and Jews.
Our government is based on the shared ethics of Jews and Christians. Absent a few nut cases here and there, Jews have always been welcome among us.
Get a life, Barb-wa.

I have an idea she is going to be inundated.
However = how does one send a NON religious greeting worded in the spirit of the season when the spirit of the season IS religious???
hmmm
How about this
Beyond that, Someone should tell WaWA that she's behind the curve - This year, Christmas is BACK!
A Jewish friend sent me this e-mail.
The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS Sunday Morning Commentary.
My confession: I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish. And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejeweled trees Christmas trees. I don’t feel threatened. I don’t feel discriminated against. That’s what they are: Christmas trees.
It doesn’t bother me a bit when people say, “Merry Christmas” to me. I don’t think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a ghetto. In fact, I kind of like it. It shows that we are all brothers and sisters celebrating this happy time of year. It doesn’t bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a key intersection near my beach house in Malibu . If people want a creche, it’s just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away.
I don’t like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don’t think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can’t find it in the Constitution and I don’t like it being shoved down my throat.
Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship Nick and Jessica and we aren’t allowed to worship God as we understand Him? I guess that’s a sign that I’m getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where Nick and Jessica came from and where the America we knew went to.
In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke; it’s not funny, it’s intended to get you thinking.
Billy Graham’s daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her “How could God let something like this happen?” (regarding Katrina) Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response.
She said, “I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we’ve been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?”
In light of recent events...terrorists attack, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O’Hare (she was murdered, her body found recently) complained she didn’t want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school. The Bible says thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK. Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn’t spank our children when they misbehave because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock’s son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he’s talking about. And we said OK.
Now we’re asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don’t know right from wrong, and why it doesn’t bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves. Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with “WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.”
Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world’s going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how you can send ‘jokes’ through e-mail and they spread like wildfire but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.
Are you laughing?
Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you’re not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it.
Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.
Pass it on if you think it has merit. If not then just discard it... no one will know you did. But, if you discard this thought process, don’t sit back and complain about what bad shape the world is in. My Best Regards .
Honestly and respectfully,
Ben Stein
What does anyone really expect - this is Barbara Walters we’re talking about. Walters is totally classless and is blatantly and purposefully using her position in the media to bash Christianity. Walter’s has more love for Fidel Castro than she does the President and First Lady. She is beneath contempt.
This is the same woman who won the “And They Called It Puppy Love Award” at the Dishonor Awards in 2002 for her unbelievable fawning during her Fidel Castro interview.

For Castro, freedom starts with education. And if literacy alone were the yardstick, Cuba would rank as one of the freest nations on Earth. The literacy rate is 96 percent.

DouglasKC,
I tried to view your profile page and noticed that you were banned. I don’t know if it has anything to do with your “religious” posts or not, but if it does, and you or anyone else is reading this.. here is my 2 cents worth.
A year or so ago I finally convinced my dad to start posting on FR. Because I know my dad :) I warned him that he should NOT engage in the “relgious” subjects, even on the “religous” forum.. I warned him of this because I know that when engaged he will speak his mind, not to offend anyone, but just to say how he “really feels”.. Well, I saw that he was engaging some of my catholic FRiends on the doctrine of “transsubstantiation”... to make a long story short he was banned because he made a reference to an article where the writer who was NOT my dad, made an argument that -—— “eating the ACTUAL body/blood of Jesus Christ was a bit canibalistic” -— IN NO WAY was my Dad suggesting that Catholics are cannibals.. it was an argument made by someone else and he was asking if the other person had a comment about it.... I saw this coming LONG before it actually happened.. but needless to say he was banned.. I have many Catholic FRiends both in real life and in cyberspace.. and I would never, nor would my father ever call a Catholic a cannibal... but that was the impression that was given, and one click of the “ABUSE” button caused my Dad to be banned... I say all this to say this.....
FR is a PRIVATE forum, no one has the RIGHT to say anything you want.. this is NOT a free speech zone... nor should it be.. otherwise we would have to let the left spew their garbage all over FR... best thing to do is READ more posts than you WRITE.. and learn the boundries that the mods have set up.. if you THINK you might get banned for posting something.. then don’t post it... If you really did not intend to offend anyone, than I am sure the mods or Jim will re-instate you after a short time in the “penalty box” :)
Hope this helps..
TOWARD VICTORY
ping-a-ling to my list so that others will understand where I stand on this.. also ping to Jim..
I just bought a hundred Madonna stamps today. Okay ..... that’s ONE good thing about living among a bunch of liberals in Seattle!
So so funny.
A religious card about a religious day, how weird. /s
Bill sure did fill Monica...
I’ve just sent Barbara an email with copies to Drudge and Bill.....and I posted this on other large forums....
;-)
I hope others will FReep WaWa!!!!
LOL!
I was born and raised a Jew. I don’t find anything offensive about the celebration of Christmas. What I do find offensive is people like Walters. They are anti-Christian bigots IMO.
BTTT
How long has she been at the job? I know the religion of everyone in the building. We have 60 people. I guess I am just surprised that you did not know. BTW, it is nice that you give gifts to your co-workers.
Maybe this idiot would like to see something from the book of the cult of death. Or the communist manifesto.
I’m surprised by her lack of sophistication in this matter. Sometimes you just have to go with the flow. Maybe the First Couple send out two types of cards, one religious and one secular. The religious cards go to those who are Christian (or thought to be), and the second type of card goes to those who are not Christian. One card celebrates the birth of Christ, the other expresses good wishes for the season. Maybe Barbara’s name got on the wrong list. The fact that she has received non religious cards from the White House in the past, makes me think that that is the case.
