Lunch hour at Geno's Steaks in South Philadelphia bought out a boisterous bunch of supporters who defended owner Joey Vento, who would be defending himself and his infamous "speak English" sign this afternoon before the city's Commission on Human Relations. "We think this city is raking Joey over the coals," said retiree Nick Skolsky from Media, who came via a half-full motorcoach organized by radio host Dom Giordano of WPHT (1210 AM

Philly has one of the highest murder rates in the country. So it’s reassuring that the Commission on “Human Relations” is dealing with real problems.

Another vendor who got into PC trouble for having a Bush in ‘04 banner across the ‘rat convention is selling over 600 pizza slices an hour before and after games in Boston now.
Good luck!
I am a proud owner of a Geno’s “speak English” T-shirt.
ping about your T-shirt!
I always liked Genos better than Pats anyway.
The city is using its funds to go after a business man thats been there forever and gives much to the community...and they are also going after the Boy Scouts. Go figure.
No wonder its in such disrepair.
I agree, they should start speaking english in S Philly.
What should Joey Vento get for posting a “speak English” sign at Geno’s?
Prison time (4.5%)= 46
A fine (10.7%)= 109
Left alone to run his business (43.5%)= 442
A medal (41.3%)= 420
Total votes= 1017
By what law does the Commission on Human Relations have any right to take this business owner to task for putting up a sign? Meanwhile the sh*tty of Philadelphia slides into the abyss with a sky-high homicide rate. Glad they have their priorities straight.
I like Pat's better. Since Joey started this mission, I do split my business between the two out of respect for him though...(suffering for a cause!).
The whole government is nuts. Recall the waterless urinals issue where they were plumbed anyway to not offend the plumbers union?
5 percent of the folks vote for prison time.
So at least 5 percent of the population are either stupid as hell, anti American, or just plain stupid.
Those 5% are Pats employees! ;-)
I'm kind of a Geno's guy, mainly because Geno's has always been a Patriot and Pats did go through a recent period where they stocked themselves up on illegals.
But honestly, I really don't find there's THAT big a difference.
I started to like Genos better way back in the 70s. Pats at the time only had cheeze whiz...which (I know I know travesty), I hated. Genos had provolone cheese. So my friends and I would go for a break from St Joes and half of us went to Pats and the other to Genos. Since then its been Genos for me.
And yes I’m that old.
done!
LOL yep I sure did.
Sure sounds like it. Had to go down a thing like an alley to get there, and no parking in the area except for US Government Vehicles Only.
