Oh, yes! Williams is a fantastic place for elk hunting! I have not been to the deer farm, but have spent time there in the winter wonder of the area. Elk is where it’s at if you are a hunter. Lots of snow right now in the area. I am so excited that we have been blessed with so much snow this year.
LOL This is for NYTexan, not me. I live here, remember? Anyway, JMO, but I think Old Tucson may be a disappointment. Since the fire, and the remodeling, it’s just not as authentic as it was.... what do you think, Wayne?

If anybody wants to be treated like King and/or Queen, my best friends have a B & B and it is a charming place to stay. (About the same rates as hotels in the area.) Each room has it’s own bathroom and TV. Two adjoining rooms share a beautiful porch. There is one two bedroom suite, with a living room, dining room, fully stocked kitchen, private porch and a koi pool. (That one can have either twins or kings in the bedrooms. It has two full bathrooms.) Then, there is one beautiful room that has a remote control fireplace that faces the king sized bed. It has a full kitchen, too.
The hosts are the most beautiful souls you would ever hope to meet.
We need to let the chief “cat herder” know about this...as well as the AZ hosts. They might want to look into it.

If we leave Sedona early enough Thursday morning, we may be able to spend some time at the deer farm before boarding the train to the Grand Canyon...or, we could perhaps visit before leaving Williams that afternoon.
It may also be neat to go out to the golf course at Williams. I understand the elk just love to browse the fairways!
The B & B is right in the center of Sedona, and if you want any info - freepmail me, ok? I will be happy to have them block the whole place for you guys and gals.
They even have a huge meeting room (holds 40 ppl.) if everyone wants to get together for itinery planning or whatever. Outside the meeting room is a patio, with lattice work cover, and several lounge chairs, and a large table.
There are several areas with patio tables, covered by umbreallas, and bird baths and fountains.

Yes, it’s a round trip and I think it pulls back into the station between 5 and 6 in the evening. Sedona is a long hour away, and Scottsdale is about 2.5 hours.
Staying in Sedona Thursday night is probably the way to do it.
Make sure you get to see the ruins such as Tuzigoot or Montezuma’s Castle. Also, Jerome on Hwy 89 between Prescott Valley and Cottonwood is fascinating, especially the grounds where the former mine manager lived.
I like Payson, too, and the drive down the Mogollon Rim from Pinetop to Payson is unforgettable. So is the drive from Pinetop to Flagstaff along St. Mary Road.
I’d also recommend Tubac, on I-19 south of Tucson; San Xavier del Bac, a beautiful mission on the grounds of an Indian reservation just southwest of Tucson; Tombstone; Bisbee, and the Chiracahua Mountains.
I miss Arizona so much. I lived there nearly 20 years.
