Wish you could join us.
My boss just returned from a weekend at the Navajo Army Depot outside of Flagstaff.
He said that on Monday at 6AM, it was 20*. It warmed up into the 60s that afternoon. In Scottsdale, it topped out at 95*. He also said that was the coldest day of the weekend.
I checked WeatherUnderground. Looked like the Sedona area was MUCH cooler than the Scottsdale area. Glad I am bringing a couple of cardigans!
There’s a 3000’ elevation difference, and Sedona is over 100 miles to the north.
The temp diff. is routine!
Luv, don’t you worry - if it SNOWS here - I’ve got a closet full of coats and sweaters for anyone who might need them.
I kind of figured that....since it’s closer to the mountains, right?
Um....snow??????
I hope not! LOL!
Flagstaff is always colder than Sedona. The altitude here is 4,500 ft. Flagstaff (20 miles to the north) is 7,600ft.
Quite a climb, eh?
Nah - it won’t snow, Luvie! Just don’t worry about getting too cold - I have plenty of stuff here at the house and you will be welcome to use any of it.
Today it was very windy. But, warm - probably over 75. Sky was clear blue - not a cloud.
It certainly is...7,600’? I had no idea...I was thinking around 6,000’. Come to think of it, that sign is on the highway well before you get to Munds Park.
I am so looking forward to this trip!
I could be wrong Jinx. I’ll go check. I’ve always heard it was that high - but never bothered to look it up. brb
OK - I could be right - I could be wrong. Depends on where you are in Flagstaff. But it is over 7,000 feet - one of the highest cities in the United States:

Sounds like it will be a welcome change from the weather south of you.
Really looking forward to this. Only a few more days!!!
I think Phoenix is sea level. Always at least 10 to 20 degrees hotter than the high desert
When I decided to move here - I looked at a map. Phoenix was too hot - Flagstaff was too cold. Sedona was in the middle, and just right.
It must be a lovely place to live. I really look forward to
my first visit there....and get to meet a new FRiend as well!
Phoenix (my high school, at least) is at 1148’ above sea level.
But it is smack dab in the middle of the desert, so it’s like a blast furnace in July. And all the concrete doesn’t help matters any.
