Shots fired, juvenile with rifle in LHC (breaking)

I'm listening to my scanner and Lake Havasu City PD officers are currently searching for a male juvenile seen toting a rifle in the vicinity of the local middle school.

There was also a report of three shots fired in that area.

Police just reported that the school is okay. Nothing further as of yet

The juvenile was described as a white male wearing a sweatshirt with the local HS name on it. I'll keep updating this thread as I hear more.

Maybe he was just shooting gophers. Let’s hope and pray something like that is the case.

Nothing further on the scanner regarding this incident as yet although the PD is still attempting to locate the juvenile and is interviewing potential witnesses at this time. Also they are responding to a suicide threat from a 21 y.o. drunk male who reportedly has weapons in his house. That and the usual accidents and stuff.

As I hear more, I'll post it here.

Like Jeff Head said, could be just a guy shooting gophers, rabbits, squirrels, or the dreaded Al Clayda (clay targets, which give "instant satisfaction" when hit.)

The area where the shots were fired is in the center of town, near the middle school, about 3 blocks from the downtown business area. And since I’ve heard nothing more on the scanner about the incident, I presume the PD is still investigating and trying to find the juvenile.

I guess that IDs it well enough, but the name of the school would have been helpfull. I could pull up the local of all the middle schools, but didn't know which one it was.
