COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - The man who killed four people at a church and missionary training center died of a self-inflicted shotgun wound, police said Tuesday.
Matthew Murray, 24, was struck multiple times by a security officer at New Life Church Sunday but died after firing a single shot at himself, the El Paso County Coroner's Office concluded after an autopsy.

You got it.
I told someone this very thing a little while ago. God exercising His just sovereignty used this woman as an instrument of protection of innocents, and then, in His extravagant mercy, spared her the lifelong struggle of wondering if He really called her to kill that man. His ways are not our own.
Not according to the Vietnam vet that got shot.
Yes it is and you are right on the mark.
We knew when this courageous Christian lady who had a firearm, training with its use, and the Holy Spirit guiding her steps and her shots....as she clearly explained....that the anti-God, anti-gun, anti-Christian presstitutes would begin immediately to attack her and/or her church instead of the gunman.
She is a true heroine, she had been fasting for 3 days, God had her there at that time at that moment with her firearm and her courage and her skill for just the purpose of stopping the slaughter that satan had engineered that day through one of his own.
The MEDIA HAD TO STOP SUCH TALK because their “father” (the devil) was none too happy about the outcome (too few Christians killed) or about the witness to the power and reality of God acting on behalf of one person who sought HIS FACE and HIS WILL.
Again satan’s wiles backfire. This new “factoid” the antiGod media are trumpeting will definitely protect the heroine from lawsuits, etc.
Bravo Bravo Bravo for a courageous Christian lady!
Police Officers Federation....UNION....allies with the antiGod media whores and their antiGod, AntiGun Demonrat Marxist leaders.
ROFL.....can’t argue with that suggestion.....
My thought exactly. That’s the fastest autopsy I’ve ever heard of. Why the rush? The guy was dead.
But, again, God can turn that which is meant for evil (to slam this lady who had claimed to “take the shooter down”)....trying to make her out to be a glory hogging liar....into good for those He has called. It will be better for her if she did not fire the “killer” shot. In many ways.
But as others have said - SHE STOPPED THE CARNAGE....thank God, and Praise His name forever!
Agree with that also. We had been told it was a “rifle” and a handgun he carried.
And the rifle was not a shotgun that was firing at the prople in that church.
Don’t we think that this security guard would have seen the perp put a shotgun to his own head or self and blow his own brains out?
The Veteran who was trying to get the firearm from the male security guard said he didn’t know that’s what they had said and that all he knew was the Jeanne kept firing and firing.
The Veteran : “Shoot him again”/in the head/?,,,
Jeanne : “No,,,He’s Dead.”
At this time The Vet grabbed the handgun(found it jammed)
IMHO : Jeanne saw the perp shoot himself as she walked
forward firing at him(marching fire)firing as the foot hits
the ground,,,10-15 rounds as The Vet has said,,,
FOX just reported: “He fired a single bullet into himself.”
“He’s dead, Mr. Finch....He’s not gonna bother these children any more. Bob Ewell fell on his knife.”
From a rifle, a shotgun or a handgun? (Shotguns do not of course *usually* fire single "bullets", but we can't expect much correct firearms information, even from Fox)
Well, IIRC, someone was reported to have taken a "pellet" in the leg. That was early on, and kind of confusing, since they were saying "assault rifle" (ie. underpowered ugly gun.)
You see that term, which has very specific DoD definition, missused more and more. At least the graboids could stick to their own made up term, assault weapon, which is loosely defined as any gun they want to ban, this month anyway.
I mean really, how hard can it be for a reporter to ask the simple question, "What type of gun or guns did the killer use? Of course "shotgun" doesn't exactly fit the agenda, not yet anyway.
From a rifle, a shotgun or a handgun? (Shotguns do not of course *usually* fire single “bullets”, but we can’t expect much correct firearms information, even from Fox)
~~~
A very good question,,,but,,,that’s all there was to it,,,
The only thing that I can get to make sense is a handgun,,,
I think the perp jammed it when he shot himself,,,
The Vet removed a “jammed handgun from the perps hand”,,,
So,,,?...
“there were 2 others both male both paid security guards”
None of the security was paid. They just belonged to the church and volunteered.
True. But asking common sense questions does not fit in with the antigun, antiGod media Agenda.
Then those shots would have contributed to his death. Since he killed himself with one shot before the other shots had a chance to take their toll, they were most likely not contributory. I can check with a medical examiner I know if you want confirmation that that was probably the case. From my discussions with him I think this is accurate.
Well no mater it was probably an evil black (semi) automatic "assault shotgun", with a "high capacity ammunition feeding device".
I know what I want for Christmas! :-D
“Its meant to minimize her role or make her look like a liar.”
The AP covered the liar story yesterday as she was fired from a police job around ‘94 for lying in an internal investigation . http://www.startribune.com/12356581.html
correction, it was 1997, not ‘94.
Maybe one of the reasons you do an autopsy right away (and ME's do lots of them, so it isn't hard to do fairly fast-- we're talking close to 24 hours from the death) is that a separate bunch of posters don't go ballistic on "what are they hiding??"
Seriously -- I would think it's in everyone's interest to sort things out as soon as possible, and an autopsy is an obvious first step. Sometimes an autopsy is just an autopsy.
And, as several posters have already said, it doesn't change the basic story line at all. He had come to kill; without force, he keeps killing. She applied the force to stop him. Whether he administered his own coup de grace or not is pretty minor.
