Congratulations on being taken in by people that don’t know what they are talking about. One of the central tenets of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Free Will. If that were not so, Dingy Harry Reid would be out on his stupid butt! Harry stood up on the stand at BYU and spoke out against the Church’s stand on abortion and other issues!

But I really do not think that Mitt’s big drop in the poll numbers is attributable this issue. Everyone knew he was a Mormon when his poll numbers were up, too. "Religious discrimination" is an easy fall back, but disingenuous. It’s Romney's record that’s catching up to him and soon the same will happen to Huckabee.

Well said. It's like if Republicans don't vote for Mitt in the primaries, it's because we'll all bigoted Mormonphobes. It doesn't matter that he's a Massachusetts RINO, because when he loses it will be blamed on the 'knuckle-dragging Christian conservatives'. The spin is in.

Oh, if only...

Still think Texas should move the border to the Red and annex Mexico. Then we can export labor to the rest of the country. :)

Geez. Please Lord, not another one!

Yes, Mormons are Christians - we’re just not Protestant, Catholic, or Eastern Orthodox Christians. We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died for our sins. We believe he is God incarnate and is the only way to be saved. What else could we be?

No, we believe our good works do not save us - only Christ’s GRACE. No amount of good works can change our sinful state (i.e., no amount of tape can restore a shattered eggshell). However, Christ doesn’t throw his saving grace to anyone - he gives it to his true followers. One cannot be a “follower” unless one actually “follows” Christ. Thus, obedience to his will, and effort to obey, are vital for salvation. Don’t cheapen his grace.

No, we do not believe God “had sex with Mary.” We DO believe God the Father has possession of a glorified immortal body just as the Son does after his resurrection. We believe the Holy Ghost was responsible for Mary’s conception, however some genetic material was passed on that fused with one of Mary’s eggs. After all, Jesus Christ’s father wasn’t Mary’s husband, Joseph, but God the Father. Not the Holy Ghost, the Father. The issue is PATERNITY not METHOD OF CONCEPTION.

Jesus Christ was 100% Man and 100% God. His humanity allowed him to relate to humans, suffer pain, fear, and death while his divinity allowed him to raise HIMSELF from the dead and perform an INFINITE atoning sacrifice where he replaces himself for our sins.

Do all these sound like a religion that is not “Christian”?

Please, study the issue more before blithely condemning Mormonism. Lastly, if you really want to know what members of a particular religion believe - ask them instead of those who demonize them.

I have seen the funny underwear....at my sister-in-law’s house—in the wash (though I wasn’t supposed to. They’re “secret”). Strange bunch.
