COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — At least four people were shot outside of a Colorado Springs church on Sunday, but it was not immediately known whether the shootings were related to an earlier shooting about 70 miles away, authorities said.

BTW, I have less patience for personal assaults than I used to have . . . odd. In general, I have more patience. But if you want me to hit the abuse button, I’m more inclined to oblige, these days.

Funny, coming from a guy who sits and types diatribes against those who advise that his overuse of caps is an assault to the eyes.

Your ability to rationalize away what multitudes of people have tried to tell you and your insistance on continuing a practice that defies polite society is anti-social and near pathological.

I joined the chorus in trying to socialize you into a certain level of polite Internet behavior. I ratcheted it up, sure, but this was because your responses to them were BS and quite frankly, insulting.

You are free to continue your practice, but you are also choosing to welcome ongoing complaints. You openly admit that you hear the complaints frequently, but arrogantly or ignorantly choose to ignore them, castigate them as ignorant and hold yourself up as doing nothing wrong.

If you feel the need to hit the abuse button because I've pointed this out, by all means, go right ahead.

I think that the kids killing people and committing suicide is an after effect of the pharmacopia that they are exposed to, both prescribed and illegally procured.

Most of the mind altering drugs that kids take have the affect of suppressing the production of seratonin, causing long term depressin, which is again treated with another mind altering drug, which doesn’t work after a period of time. When the anti-depressants stop working, the side effecrts kick in and the kid is likely to try anything. Thank goodness most of them don’t start killing people.

I have a nephew that was on ritalin from the time he was just a little kid. The doctors told my sister that he was “stressed” when he was in about ninth grade and insisted on putting him on Zoloft. the Zoloft worked really well for about five years, maybe seven, but about his senior year in college it stopped working. He realized that he wasn’t noticing any benefit and just stopped taking it, cold turkey. He experienced all kinds of side effects, many of which doctors thought were all in his head. He wanted to be a teacher and he felt that he needed to to stop taking the drugs. Then he found a doctor who had a similar experience after being on ritalin for years and anti-depressants.

My nephew was smart enough to know what his problem was, many kids don’t. If there problems are caused by recreational drugs, or complicated by recreational drugs, there isn’t much hope.

~~~
IIRC the body is in the doorway/area of the church,,,
A hose would work if they could blow the body away from the door area,,,
They gotta have a robot in this day and age,,,
Sooner or later I guess...
We planned on going to that service this morning. Fortunately, we were babysitting our grand daughter and she got sick so we didn’t go.
Scary!
I’ve been off my PC since this began, but I think appropriate headlines for this story may be...
“CHRISTIANS GUNNED DOWN IN COLORADO”
or
“CHRISTIANS ATTACKED IN COLORADO”
The talk of attacks on “religious sites” reflects a secular bias of the MSM that started with AP itself no doubt.
The Associated Press becomes “the Bible” of news writers and producers in this situation. They spit out the info and anchors read it instantly on radio and TV. We see the AP copy online.
If another group such as “Muslims” were involved it would have been spun from the beginning as an attack on “Muslims.”
Wow. This has been a really sad day. I've been having a hard time with this. I have been with YWAM for the last few years, and have taken 4 classes through them (3 in Hawaii and one in Switzerland) and I just recently decided to apply for a staffing position at the YWAM in Baja (Mexico). I'm sad for the victims and it's a bit frightening to me that it appears Christians are targets. But also, reading some comments today on different sites, about the shootings also really brought me down. I know that there are people who hate Christians, but reading their comments so soon after the shootings... it's just surreal, imo.
I’m also certain that the breakdown in the family unit has much to do with this, as well, and, naturally, removal of God and Christian values from just about everything is most likely the main cause of this, as children raised without values will fill up with bad values.
Agree; surely 'family' environment is a big part here. Funny, how little they really disclose about these perps. . .their life stories, really. Their likes/dislikes; interests etc./et al. . .
Think as well, today, Liberalism/PC makes it even harder for young men to 'define' themselves. We are 'growing' students, who are unchallenged. Without real heroes - authentic, real or mythic; without benefit of real competition; and 'scores' while on the playing field; be it organized sports or recess. In their classrooms; they are without 'real grades - and so no honest intellectual competition as well. (Even school Valedictorians are becoming an 'acheivement threat' to another students ego. . .)
In many homes; there is no 'real' Father either. That 'boys will be boys' is no longer tolerated. No rough play; no 'play guns'. . .Their 'real' competition is supplanted by the safe. . .and inauthentic, 'virtual realities'.
Anyway, fewer tests of their 'boyness' - soon to be 'manness'. Fewer challenges; and meantime, the growing wells of testosterone become threatening; particularly, as you say. . .for those children, in less than ideal situations.
These kids are living an 'inauthentic' childhood. At some point; they want and require 'real' tests of who they are; at least beyond the relativity of the 'egalitarian playing field' and beond the challenges - and false confirmations - of a video game.
Think in the end; sadly, the most troubled of these boys, looks for a reality they can actually feel if only by their own violent impact. They confirm the pain of emptiness; of lving a life where no test or challenge has defined in authentic terms; 'who they are' and by turn, 'who they can be'. . .
John 15:18-19
"If the world hates you, just remember that it has hated me first. If you belonged to the world, then the world would love you as its own. But I chose you from this world, and you do not belong to it; that is why the world hates you.
If I recall correctly from earlier reports on the thread, three teenage girls were shot, and the oldest was in the worst shape. I’m guessing this is the one who just passed.
