The West’s “window of opportunity” to have the might to enforce this is rapidly closing.

I think you're absolutely correct, which is one of the reasons this NIE "report" was such a terrible, terrible thing.

Our failure to recognize, name and destroy the threat will result in untold lives lost on down the road in a war of unspeakable proportions and no predictable outcome. It’s morally indefensible in my opinion.

What amazes me every day is that there are people around who feel that crap hole is worth one molecule of American blood.

They're not worth it. However, we're there, we're not being pulled out any time soon, so we may as well do what we can while we're there. This sort of thing will always continue as long as Islam exists. Maybe we should blast them nonstop with "Baywatch" until they give up their murderous Puritan impressions.

Correct on all counts. There is always hope but the chances for success before all out war grow smaller daily.

All Christians should leave those hell holes! They are in danger there. Christians are in danger anywhere that there are members of the death cult.

“...so long as you are anti Christian or anti American or anti White, you get a free pass in the media to do ANYTHING”

That logic leads one directly to the elephant in the room.....

All too chillingly true.
I believe in pragmatic terms the opportunity has in fact already been irrevocably lost.

I’m afraid you may be right.

With a huge cost in blood and loss of life, it can be forced back up enough to have a chance to survive.

The failure of our leaders - both parties and all stripes and persuasions - to see or act on that is the stuff of fools, traitors, cowards or all of the above.

Please allow me to demonstrate, regretfully so, just what a sisyphean undertaking such an if-only endeavor would entail outside the utilization of nuclear weapons;
Simply extrapolate what we've endured in terms of casualties, budgeting tackling an infinitely, emphatically much less overwhelmingly complex objective, the relatively simple task of implementing/stabilizing regime change, to give what is arguably some cosmic-sized ballpark estimate of what it would require, figures exponentially too mind-numbing to really think about.

I agree. And I have no doubt that nuclear weapons will be necessary and that, even with the use of them, the cost to us will be staggering. The enemy lives among us. Any street corner that doesn’t have a mosque has a muslim-owned convenience store and people there prepared to slit our throats. It will be a bloody war fought on our own soil because of a wide failure of governmental leadership. It will require a strength of the American spirit which I, regretfully, don’t see as available and forthcoming, but I hope I’m proved wrong.

Why is it ‘too late’? WHY?
We’re dealing with a primitive mindset that only respects POWER. Mercy is weakness to the Islamic mind. Like a bunch of schoolyard bullies taken to the nth degree, no amount of appeasement or ‘reasoning’ will end the terror- only superior force will.
In this case, the strength and determination of the enemy dictates the amount of force necessary. Nothing short of eradication will stop Islam from trying to subjugate the entire planet. That’s hard to face for some, and too ugly to contemplate, but that’s how it is.
Islam is a disease- the degree of infection may vary( from carriers to dangerously infected types) but it is the same danger in all.
There was no such thing as even IMAGINING a ‘good Nazi’. No one thinks a ‘little’ cancer is good. Islam is toxic to life at its core. Not even the least violent Muslim is willing to purge the Koran of its bloodthirsty, militant directives. There can be no ‘kinder, gentler new testament version of Islam’. Until stupid , naive ‘infidels’ can wrap their minds around that, they will continue to delude themselves into thinking peaceful co-existence with Islam is possible.
Much like the Jews in WW2- who could not imagine or accept the absolute evil of the Nazis even as they were walking toward the gas ‘showers’- the last thought of everyone who has( and will) die because of Islam will be one of disbelief.
Believe it now- and survive.

I just love how we support Islam over Christians. Started in the Balkans and now the Brits declare victory and go home. You ask “against the war?”

I am against the way it was fought and no, that $hithole isn't worth one drop of American blood..

Christianity was born in the Middle East long before Islam. What a shame the latter has come to dominate that region and persecute everyone else.

Peace will come in the Middle East when I can look at the skyline of Saudi Arabia, Iran, and every nation over there and see crosses and steeples rather than minarets and mosques.

What exactly, have we achieved in Iraq?

Let us stop looking at this conflict for a moment as Americans. Of what use is US imposed stability in Iraq if:

1. We allowed them to pass a constitution that legitimizes Islam as the source of all law.
2. Christian girls cannot go to school without being harassed.

Yes, we have achieved our geopolitical aims. But haven’t we prepared the ground for a new generation of religious bigots?

Wisdom, they say lies in knowing when to stop.

Our support for Islam goes all the way back to FDR and the King of Saudi Arabia. The Brits support of Islam goes even further back in time.

Our support for the Mujihadeen in Afghanistan led to the Taliban. I pray that our involvement in Iraq does not lead to something worse. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

The signs are not too good. The Shiite leadership is firmly in Iranian hands. We might get our oil, but at what cost?
