If you don't want to go see it, then don't go. If other people want to check it out, why would you care?
Because I and others see this film as a symbol of Hollywood's disdain for people of the faith.
It's basically a boycott. My church and most others I know have been educating thier congregations about the message in this film and, apparently, many have chosen not to see it.
Talking it up in this board and others is a way of promoting the boycott.
How much of the poor box office is due to the boycott and how much is due to the crappiness of the film, I don't know.

We care because the author is using this medium to deceive and indoctrinate children-those least able to judge for themselves. It takes a special kind of evil to do that.
Harry Potter was just a movie. This film is a hate crime against a particular faith: Christianity.
Certainly we are not blocking access to the theaters, nor is anyone making threats. I feel no guilt, but rather joy at seeing this propaganda film fail. As an American I am free to express my views, and I am free to boycott this film.
Please respect my right to free expression. Hoping the film fails is not stupid, it was backed by an effort several months in the making to educate Americans about the deceptive content.
I may not be able to do anything to a museum that calls a cross in a jar of urine, art. But I can warn people not to see blatant propaganda disguised as a kids movie.
Embrace freedom. Today, you have encountered not censorship, but diversity.
The bad guys know this just as well as the good guys.
It's terrific the majority of Americans saw through this vile propaganda and rejected its message.
Normally, a $25 million opener for a $200+ million picture would doom any chance for a sequel. With the agenda behind this film, who knows?
But thankfully, this particular campfire is nothing but soot and ashes.
Just like I wish MTV to do poorly, I also wish for this movie to do poorly (evil content that could infect hearts and minds..)!
The author and the film are evil. Delighting in this failure is automatic.
They're losing their shirts. It invalidates the Hollywood hope of a completely secularized artistic culture. We're happy.
The thing about an opinion forum--people are here to have and promote opinions. What's the sense in an opinion forum, otherwise?
And people who believe in the things he wants to undermine have the right to hope that he sees the error of his ways and honestly repents. Until that happens, they have the desire that his attempts to push anti-Christian propaganda on children suffer failure, both as propaganda and financially. They certainly have no reason to wish him success.
Personally, I like to see failure when it involves something aimed to harm children (”killing God in their minds”), or when it aims to harm our country, as so many of these so-called “anti-war” (aka anti-US) movies try to do. So yes, I celebrate this one, as well as Redacted and Lions for Lambs and several others. Their failure goes into the win column for this country—and our kids.
Because if folks aren't concerned for their immortals souls, then at least we can help them save 2 hours of their lives from being wasted. After all, if they're atheists, it's all they've got...
I see that you are an Austin liberaltarian. No surprise that you’d defend those who hate Christians.
If you don't like Hillary, don't root against her-- just don't listen.
Let's stop all negativity on FreeRepublic.Only positive things, or we'll be hearing that same old cliche' --
"just turn the dial!!!!!"
Here's one for you: If you don't like the anti-GC, why don't you just move on?
Thank you.
Because, just as there is with the anti-war movies there is an agenda here. Watching liberal propaganda crash and burn painfully where it counts (their pocketbooks) for Hollywood has been a hoot!
