I’m not convinced you can eliminate that bit about an anchor baby.

Isn’t it stipulated in our constitution that anyone BORN in this country is automatically a citizen?

Thus wouldn’t it require a constitutional ammendment to remove this wording?

Not being Devil’s Advocate here, just wanting the truth.

No democrat fits that requisite, and only a few Rs do it for me. Huckabee is not one of them!

Spot-on. Besides Huckabee gives me the creeps!

I could take Rudy also. I have definitely not made up my mind except I really can’t take Huck or McCain. McCain did support amnesty and he is lying when he said he doesn’t or has a completely different definition. Ditto Huck.

The one thing I worry about with Rudy is the judge issue. We all know Ginsburg’s in poor health, and most of those judges are getting up there in age, making the selection of judges all the more important. The last thing we need is another Warren or Burger court. Rudy’s track record in NYC wasn’t so hot.

Bush has had a very good record with judicial appointments (Harriet Miers aside) and one thing the next President will need to do is pick up where he left off.

Aside from the fact that Rudy favors legalizing the status of the 13 to 20 million illegal aliens already here, who can then sponsor tens of millions more to enter legally thru chain migration, which would destroy this country as we know it, Rudy is OK.

Timmy wants Rudy to defend or attack Huck on his comments about AIDS.

Rudy says it’s not the orientation (of homosexuality) that is sinful, it’s the act.

Says we are all sinful and all of us need to try to be better. (Can’t argue with that.)

Someone will probably beat me to it but birth right is not in the constitution. It came about from a court decisions interpreting the amendment meant to cover blacks after the Civil War.

Birthright citizenship is related to chain migration [however the child cannot sponsor anyone until age 21] and should be eliminated, but chain migration beyond the nuclear family is a far worse problem.

He SHOULD give you the creeps.

How he lies about his part in pardoning that rapist/murderer is scary. He makes Bill Clinton look like a piker in the art of the lie.

In my article, linked somewhere upthread, I also discovered...well not ME...but DRUDGE...the number of pardons Huckabee gave while Governor or Arkansas compared to other Governors and it’s almost TRIPLE the largest state in his surround.

It’s almost an industry in Arkansas it would seem.

Or a court ruling. One of the two. There have been some indications on the “original intent” thought that the clause was only intended to cover those legally present here, and since we didn’t really have an “illegals” problem then, they neglected to mention it. Whether that argument could hold up in court, I’m not so convinced.

I never said these changes would be easy, but in the long run they would need to be done.

Judges, 2nd amendment, abortion, gay issues.

Rudy has many questions attached to him.

That and why would woman vote for Rudy in any numbers, his divorces have been “nuclear”.

I can remember the outcry when they deported a family in Britain because the press were saying since the children were born in Britain they were British and how could we deport our own citizens.

The truth was the parents despite working for the last 10 or so years here were visa out-stayers so they had to go, they even owned their own house but they were deported despite protests locally.

The craziest one though IMHO currently is a cricket coach who claims he feels British has lived here most of his life as a cricketer and after he finished playing coached at a local private school. He has applied for residency/citizenship but has been turned down because he does not hold the qualifications to do the job he is doing. The private school and parents are quite happy but the government is saying that outside this school he would not be employable as a cricket coach so therefore he must go as he visa has expired.

The local people are protesting and he is under appeal. His case I am for him but the couple with children simply ignored the rules and did not actually want Citizenship only to work here different case IMHO.

Without getting into the details, the experts are divided on whether a Constitutional amendment would be needed or not. If you really want to inform yourself about the issue, read this.

Great job in bringing up the CIA story it is the biggest story of the week and one that the drive-bys would love to ignore.

It shows that we do fight the enemy from within on a regular basis, all the time and they are hidden in CIA, DIA,State and who knows where else.

The guy named Fingar(SP,or whatever) who hates us and all we stand for, is a true plant and anything he does should be suspect. His analysis of nuclear plans of Iran should be subject to the most intense scrutiny of any document ever prepared.

Ironically it's possible to suggest a trail to the Clinton's who would like nothing better than to stalemate GW in Iran via their most popular method to get anything done play all sides triangulate the message as Fingar has so slickly done.

Even while Wackmennenjob cries almost daily about how he will kill the infidels (us) any chance he gets, guess that wasn't significant enough intel for the plants at the intel services to use as a basis for Iran's nuclear lust.

We have unfortunately reached a point in the history of the nation where political gain trumps nat. security eveytime with the dem/rats.

A new low for the nation.
