According to Mark Levin, one of the officials who denied knowing of the tapes or transcripts thereof in fact cited those transcripts in the 9/11 report. So unless someone else was a ghost-wrote for him, his denial should not be trusted (whether due to mendacity or forgetfulness).

Senator Edward “Schwimmer” Kennedy (D-Chivas) is deeply saddened.

The MSM has a template. What story can hurt Bush? What can we do to help the Democrats? They all march in the same direction. If you don't get it on one network, it will end up somewhere else.

I’m glad the leftwing politicians and their media lapdogs are making a major issue out of this. It will just further serve to destroy their credibility. If they think the American people are going to get all up in arms over the proper disposal of a few tapes showing terrorists being treated as terrorists should be treated, the radical leftists are even more out of touch than any of us could possibly have hoped for. I hope all of the Demo candidates quickly and loudly come down on the side of the poor “tortured” terrorists.

He is a man of many names! His latest is “author”. I heard there’s going to be a chapter in his book about MaryJo titled “If I Did It”.

‘”Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., accused the CIA of a cover-up. “We haven’t seen anything like this since the 18 1/2-minute gap in the tapes of President Richard Nixon,” he said in a Senate floor speech.” ‘
Or since the death of Mary Jo Kopechne in 1969.

“Critics (meaning Democrats and the media) have complained that the tapes were destroyed just as a public debate was brewing over torture and interrogation.”
CORRECTION:
“Critics in the DNC and MSM have complained that the tapes were destroyed just as they were starting to mislead the public in debate over torture and interrogation.”

One might think they were waiting until the tapes were destroyed, so that the tapes could not refute the wild claims they plan to make.

You know what I pray for? That whoever ordered, or took it upon them self to destroy the tapes, would stand up, stand tall, and publicly, (preferably in front of a bunch of ravening Cingresscrapheads), and say “Yes! I did it! and I’d do it again! I did it to protect my country, and the patriots who protect my country! And I *dare* you and the traitor Press, to crucify me!”.

"The decision to destroy the tapes appears to be the unilateral act of one man, Jose A. Rodriguez, Jr., the former chief of the CIA's clandestine service, who acted even without the authority of the CIA's top attorney." A good man! Before reading that part I was imagining what I'd do if I were a low level employee who controlled those tapes after the Abu Ghraib photos release killed so many of our troops. I'd destroy them in a heat beat and take the consequences. Good to know people like Jose Rodriguez exist...

I think it is no coincidence that this all came out the week the questioning over the NIE on Iran came out.
