Psalm 34 : 19
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all.

TOPICS: Culture/Society
KEYWORDS: pray; presidentbush
Dear Heavenly Father, as we look all around us we see your hand. The heavens and earth speak of your splendor. Our mouths fill with praise for you precious Lord. How truly blessed we are to be called children of the most high God. Lord God we come before your throne and lift up our president in prayer. Set his feet upon a rock and establish his goings. May many see and trust in you. Let your spirit rest on Him. Give him the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and power, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord that he might delight in the fear of the Lord. Don’t let him judge be what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears, but let him act with righteousness , justice and faith.

Lord, give victory to our troops and be their shield. Guard their course and protect their way. Many are your wonderful works O Lord. Our hope is in you alone. We pray these things in your Son’s name, Amen

We must remember
That Day in December
Planes attacked Hilo’s shores
We did not want to fight for Freedom
We were forced into that war

Many went out to serve us
Gave up lives, we hold so dear
Fought and won the peace and freedom
Throughout the world, far and near

Another Day, this in September
Planes attacked us once again
We joined to fight a frightful menace
Founded on murderous sin

Evil thrives in hearts of people
This world has wallowed in it since
That Day we lied to God in Eden
So, now we live our own pretense

When will we learn God is the answer
Within our hearts the question burns
He gave His Son to die for freedom
It’s given freely, it can’t be earned

One Day when wars are gone forever
Peace and joy will fill our souls
God’s love will be abiding in us
We’ll talk with God, we’ll be made whole

He wants to be right here with you
Every hour, every day
To talk with you and guide your footsteps
If you let Him, he’ll lead The Way

Here is a new way to look at a deck of cards!!

Received this email today.

Deck of Cards

It was quiet that day, the guns and the mortars, and land mines for some reason hadn’t been heard.

The young soldier knew it was Sunday, the holiest day of the week.

As he was sitting there, he got out an old deck of cards and laid them out across his bunk.

Just then an army sergeant came in and said, “Why aren’t you with the rest of the platoon?”

The soldier replied, “I thought I would stay behind and spend some time with the Lord”

The sergeant said, “Looks to me like you’re going to play cards.”

The soldier said, “No, sir. You see, since we are not allowed to have Bibles or other spiritual books in this country,
I’ve decided to talk to the Lord by studying this deck of cards.”

The sergeant asked in disbelief, “How will you do that?”

“You see the Ace, Sergeant? It reminds me that there is only one God.

The Two represents the two parts of the Bible, Old and New Testaments

The Three represents the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost.

The Four stands for the Four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

The Five is for the five virgins there were ten but only five of them were glorified.

The Six is for the six days it took God to create the Heavens and Earth.

The Seven is for the day God rested after making His Creation.

The Eight is for the family of Noah and his wife, their three sons and their wives — the eight people God spared from the flood that destroyed the Earth.

The Nine is for the lepers that Jesus cleansed of leprosy. He cleansed ten, but nine never thanked Him.

The Ten represents the Ten Commandments that God handed down to Moses on tablets made of stone.

The Jack is a reminder of Satan, one of God’s first angels, but he got kicked out of heaven for his sly and wicked ways and is now the joker of eternal hell.

The Queen stands for the Virgin Mary.

The King stands for Jesus, for he is the King of all kings.< BR>

When I count the dots on all the cards, I come up with 365 total, one for every day of the year.

There are a total of 52 cards in a deck; each is a week - 52 weeks in a year.

The four suits represent the four seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.

Each suit has thirteen cards — there are exactly thirteen weeks in a quarter .

So when I want to talk to God and thank Him, I just pull out this old deck of cards and they remind me of all that I have to be thankful for.”

The sergeant just stood there. After a minute, with tears in his eyes and pain in his heart, he said, “Soldier, can I borrow that deck of cards?”

Please let this be a reminder and take time to pray for all of our soldiers who are being sent away, putting their lives on the line fighting

Pray for the Military.

Please keep the wheel rolling. It will only take a few seconds of your time, but it ‘ll be worth it to read on....

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands.

Protect them.

Bless them and their families.

I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

Amen.

Are We Selling Out?

Looking carefully . . . lest there be any . . . profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright. —Hebrews 12:15-16

Have we “sold out” the way Esau did? (Heb. 12:16). Has the lure of wealth, power, prestige, position, security, style, or the approval and praise of others led us to barter away God’s riches for a single meal?

Esau sought to change his father’s mind and gain the inheritance he had forfeited by his duplicity, but he could not set right the damage he had done. He had to live with his decision. Neither can we turn back the clock and undo the wrong we have done to ourselves and to others.

Although the past is irrevocable, there can be a new day before us, filled with new chances, new opportunities, and new expectations. God will not redo the past, but when we repent He can and will forgive us and set us on a new path.

The Lord can give us opportunities to show how we have truly repented of the decisions of the past and how much we long to serve Him in the decisions to come. He will never mention the deeds by which we’ve shamed others and ourselves; they are forgiven and forgotten forever.

God will give us a place to begin again—to love, to serve, to touch others profoundly and eternally for His sake. This demonstrates the greatness of our heavenly Father’s forgiving love to us.

Dear Lord, be merciful to me;
My sin has grieved Your heart;
And grant to me Your strength anew
To make a fresh, new start.  —D. De Haan

God’s forgiveness is the door to a new beginning.
