David Huckabee, 26, the son of former Gov. Mike Huckabee, was arrested early Thursday morning for allegedly attempting to board an airplane with a handgun at Little Rock National Airport.

After being released from the Pulaski County Jail, Huckabee called the incident "a silly mistake" and said "it shouldn't" affect his father's presidential campaign.

According to the police report, the gun was a Glock and had a clip in it. Huckabee was asked if he knew what was in the bag, and “he replied he did now.” The report says he told authorities that he forgot the gun was in the bag.

Huckabee was arrested for carrying a weapon in a prohibited place at about 6 a.m.

This is very interesting to me.

David Huckabee conveniently forgets a gun is in his bag and gets arrested...just as his father is running for President.

Back in 2000, Al Gore III got arrested after driving 100 MPH...just as his father was running for President.

This past July, Gore III got arrested for speeding again and was found to be in possession of marijuana and a variety of unprescribed antidepressants and painkillers...shortly before his father's internationally ballyhooed Live Earth concerts.

I ain't no shrink, but both cases sound like "a cry for attention."

Then his (Huckabee) views itself should be discussed. I don't see how dragging a family member into it will help our cause.

I'm well aware that Huckabee is a nanny-stater.

FReepers rightfully got mad when the press picked on Laura and Jenna Bush, so the same standard should apply for all candidates.

I dunno, EEE. Calling someone Bloomberg with a Theology degree is a far more severe slam than laughing about his fat son’s foibles.

Speaking of disingenuous, why doesn’t Ron Paul take his Presidential Campaign to the Libertarian Party?

I have a revolver. :-)

Modern revolvers have a safety which is disengaged when you pull the trigger.

Not unlike the Glocks.

It is a tough world, and it will be a lot tougher if the Clintons are allowed to return to the Oval Office. I don’t think we can withstand another four years of the Clintons.

I don't know. Maybe because he didn't want to hear GOP boot-lickers whine when he takes enough votes away from the RINO nominee to elect Hillary?

Better pray for Fred’s nomination, or Hillary can start measuring for the drapes again.

OK, so I won't talk about David's weight problem.

How about this..In 1998 he was fired from a Boy Scout camp counselor job, because he hunted down a stray dog, hung it from a tree and shot it..

It kind of falls into the white trash bin..

Well as long as the Clintons watch their weight and Chelsea stays out of trouble I guess we shouldn’t have any problems.

Huckabee is just a medis invention because they enjoyed his debate humour.

Now they will break him down.

Fox hates Fred.

Silly him. If he'd gone 'about 5 a.m.' or maybe 'about 7 a.m.' - he'd have been okay...

Isn’t Huckabee always lecturing people about bad health habits and the need for preventative, proactive health care? It looks like the entire family runs to flab. Maybe Huckabee ought to focus on perfecting them rather than hectoring the American people.

Is this all the anti-Hucks have? Pretty lame. They are running scared, esp. the Mitt-wits.

My point was that if this was "joe anybody" the Fred heads would be cheering him, saying what a great American he was for carrying a loaded gun, his rights under the 2nd amendment

That's gotta take some kinda prize for the biggest stretch of supposition ever to try to denigrate someone

This was very underhanded. I don’t expect dirty tricks here at FR. That’s more like DU.

Talk about spinning. This is the dumbest comment I have seen in quite some time.

I'm so glad you answered HisKingdomWill... with this...

I answered his/her first one and then they posted the second one that was, hard to believe, even more preposterous. - I was at a loss for words.

Talk about twisted logic...
