I think what the Phelps family is doing is completely morally wrong. As for slinging fightin’ words back, I hope a person uses every single thing they can think of, no matter what it might sound like.

The Democrats just won’t give up with their stupid little WBC project. I guess they think they’ll be able to subvert Christianity with their antics. I doubt Phelps will show up at James Michael McHaney’s court appearances:

Truly sad. Yet another case where some defective personality is absolutely, positively convinced they are on the direct line to God.

Federal judges abuse of their authority sends us further down the slope to national suicide. Our rights are being used to destroy the fabric of America. Had the founding fathers of this country been able to see what is going on, there would have never been any Bill of Rights. Nor likely any USA. Why work so hard to create such a cesspool?

In this case, the panel found that Missouri’s law was likely unconstitutional because “any interest the state has in protecting funeral mourners from unwanted speech is outweighed by the First Amendment right to free speech.”

It seems to me that if they don't want to legislate decency in this case, they need to stop trying to keep people from hurting other folks feelings with these insane "hate speech" rulings.

If they would go ahead and drink the kool aid, we would all be better off.

Weirdness on the fringe of religion will probably hurt candidates like Romney and Huckabee.

Not that there's any justification for linkage, it's just that the areligious make the link anyway.

“any interest the state has in protecting funeral mourners from unwanted speech is outweighed by the First Amendment right to free speech.”

...funerals are not a public forum and no one is allowed to disturb the private reflections of mourners.

I agree with you. If funerals are to be considered a "public forum", then it won't be long before you cannot mention God at one.

If not, then the Phelps Gang has no right to show.

Better yet, they will be bankrupt! A jury in Maryland found for the family of a soldier who had been slandered by this group, and hit them with a judgment of several million dollars. It's now under appeal, but ultimately the late soldier hero's family will prevail and drive this scum into bankruptcy.

The gay activist group Log Cabin Republicans has some very interesting dirt on Mr. Phelps and some of his disreputable associates:

Al Gore with Fred Phelps, Jr.>

"Fred Phelps, Jr. (left) and Al Gore (center) Fundraiser at Phelps Home Topeka, Kansas"

Fred Phelps was a Gore delegate at the 1988 Demo convention

Phelps ran for governor in the Demo primary in 1990.

Phelps hosted a fund-raiser for Gore at his son's Topeka home in 1989.

Gore invited Phelps to both the 1993 and 1997 Clinton inaugurations

Inconvenient truth, anyone?

Probably a sneaky uncle pete when he was a kid.

Technically yes. The phelps scourge seems to have a very limited scope. One of the obsessions seems to be law unfortunately. Whatever assets they have to forfeit will be immediately replaced with the George Soros’ and Sean Penn’s of this world. The legal/media limbo is what they crave. It is what they are getting.

Even worse would be if someone deliberately 'lawsuit proofed' themselves and kicked the living snot out of a few of them.

That would break my heart.

I believe that a court has just drawn the line, and has dared patriots to make a stand at the next funeral...

I do not see this boding well for the Phelp-Freaks...And thats what they want...They want it to turn into something uglier than it has been over the last few years...

The sad thing is that the Westboro church has their kids all participating in this deal...

"“Thank God for Dead Soldiers”"

If them ain't fightin' words when spoken at a soldier's Church funeral, there are none.
