Maryland Transit Administration Police said last night that they have found no evidence that the severe beating of a 26-year-old woman on a city bus this week was provoked and that they are investigating the attack as a possible racially motivated hate crime.
Nine middle school students have been charged as juveniles with aggravated assault and destruction of property in the Tuesday afternoon attack on a woman and her male companion on the No. 27 bus.
Police said yesterday that they have determined that there were two additional victims in the case - a third passenger and the bus operator who came to his assistance.
Investigators were examining video from a surveillance camera on the bus but had not completed their analysis.

But, but, the then mayor said that things were getting better and so Maryland elected him Governor. Since that election I have heard him say that Baltimore is the best city in the country.
Why, he even spent more than a half million dollars on a campaign to come up with a slogan for Baltimore. What is it you say.... "Get in on it."
good point
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
My boss is one, and he looks big enough to take on all nine of those f***ers.
I just roll my eyes when a gang of blacks pull out the N-word provocation after attacking and beating a white.
I second...
“Paging Mr. Kersey, Mr. Paul Kersey.”
Oh, brother. I’m 50 years old, and ever since I reached the age of reason some 40 years ago, I’ve heard the same pathetic excuse used by packs of blacks who have beaten the crap out of some white.
Honestly, do you believe that when faced with 9+ aggressive angry blacks (”No you CAN’T sit down there!”), a white is going to choose THAT moment to use the N-word?
Are you that naive, or that foolish?
Imagine now “sketchy” those cities will be if the economy ever tanks, and the welfare checks, food stamp cards, ATMs etc stop coming.
Thank God I have no further reason to venture into any of the ghettos of Baltimore, Richmond, Washington, and so forth.
What you say is too horrible to imagine. But hey, then those cities will become quagmires, and we can withdraw. Such a pity that they are all Rat strongholds.
The probability it's true is the same as the probability they pulled a knife on them and spit.
Violent responses to minimal provocation seems inherent among those residing near, or having genetic ties to, the equator- or better yet- the 'cradle of civilization'.
Not certain whether it's proximaty to the sun or closeness to the 'cradle', that makes one act like a baby.
Seems we're coddling our own Religion of Intolerance- a relative of the Religion of Peace.
To test my theory I'd have to travel to Alaska and call an Eskimo a mukluk sucker and measure the reaction. Limited funds and prior engagements preclude my doing so at the moment.
Couldn’t agree more!!
Well Said!
In 1994 I endured hauntingly similar violence in a city high school and was also falsely accused of provoking the attack with a racial slur.
My takeaway is that there are certain cultures that only understand violence as a means of communications and self expression. You can’t reason with them because they are uneducated and have been taught to hate and blame others for their socioeconomic situation.
The violence will only get worse and God help those who are living in a deeply urban area should a natural or other type of disaster occur. New Orleans post-Katrina is a light example of what to expect. You have been warned
No, “Get in on it” was Sheila Dixon’s as interim mayor.
Gov/Mayor O’Malley’s was the most brilliant ever: “BELIEVE”.
Believe what?
“those cities will become quagmires, and we can withdraw. Such a pity that they are all Rat strongholds.”
Which is WHY they ARE quagmires.
O'Malley spent $500,000 of the taxpayers' money to an out-of-state (IIRC) company to come up with the slogan "Get in on it." He then spent another $250,000 to come up with a logo and advertising campaign to go with it. This all took place before the election of 2006. Gov. Ehrlich did not make an issue of that frivolous use of taxpayer money, just like he did not make an issue of so many of O'Malley's terrible stats and policies. Ehrlich ran a lousy campaign.
Gov/Mayor OMalleys was the most brilliant ever: BELIEVE. Believe what?
This slogan, BELEIVE, which was seen all over Baltimore, was to be replaced by the new slogan. Believe in nothing, I guess. It worked, O'M is now governor.
One of students who rides that bus says the woman used the N word and punched one of the students riding the bus.
Since the authorities say the attack was unprovoked I serious doubt (and mistrust) the claims of the perpetrator's parents. I hope there is sound to the video (and the video doesn't disappear) so we can hear what was said. And if the woman's boyfriend had initiated the fight then that would be on the video and surely the authorities in liberal MD would have said as such. They say the opposite.
