Democrats offer little to choose from

As a lifelong Democrat, I view with amusement their candidates' debate. My choice would be "none of the above."
Regardless of the facts, people tend to believe what they want to believe. All the candidates propose what the people want to hear, rather than concrete proposals.
The most realistic candidate is Dennis Kucinich, who witnessed UFOs flying. The problem is he looks as if he flew in on one.
Of all the presidential candidates, there is one who stands out. He seems to have more intelligence, leadership qualities and would restore the image of our country to the rest of the world. He has a plausible four-page solution to the Social Security crisis as well as plans for enhancing the military capability of our nation. I like Fred Thompson.

I have to say that’s exactly right. Fred is the only candidate from either party who has any real substance or credentials to run for president.
None of the Democrats has any stature, and most of the Republicans, other than Duncan Hunter, have crippling problems that completely disqualify them.
That leaves Fred. I just hope the party rallies around, before they manage to blow the election.

Not at the next election. Hillary ‘n Smiley would cause us to gain seats, Rudy McRombee would cause us to lose seats.

That’s just the cold reality of the situation. I just wonder if the masses will wake up in time.

The guy makes an interesting point. There is literally no substantive difference among any of the Dem candidates. The party has purged all dissent and now all candidates favor exactly the same thing. The only difference is in personality. Contrast this to the broad range of views among the GOP candidates. The left constantly harps on diversity but which party is truly diverse?

There is literally no substantive difference among any of the Dem candidates. The party has purged all dissent and now all candidates favor exactly the same thing. The only difference is in personality. The Democrat party is a minefield of disparate special interests. There is basically only a narrow path a candidate can walk that will not tick off too many of those special interest groups. hence, they're all cookie-cutter replicas of each other, only different in superficiality.

My sister is in the same boat as the author of this article. She is a democrat desperately seeking a candidate! Twice she had to vote for Bush!
I haven't talked to her about Fred Thompson, but when I sent her an AP photo of me meeting Fred at a rally she did say it was cool!
