Dr. Bill is one of the brightest guys around...Don’t get to listen to him much, unfortunately.

You’re thinking of Jim Eason, I think.

Interestingly enough, Jim was pretty liberal back in the late ‘70’s and early 80’s, then began to list rightward toward the end of his career. His shift began almost coincidentally with the advent of Rush’s appearance nationally.

He was probably more libertarian than conservative, however.

One other note...I know Pete Wilson had a pretty good following, but personally, I think he was dumber than a stick (may he RIP), and I mean dumb, like low IQ.

I heard him say some things early on when he first started to fill in on the talk shows that caused me to come to that conclusion.

My impression was that he was a typical local TV news anchor, without a lot of substance.

He may have changed lately...I just haven’t heard him since he got the show on a regular basis.

When the freeway bridges needed to be rebuilt quickly after the Northridge earthquake, Dr. Bill came up with the plan...

Instead of extruding all new girders, they used steel from flatbed railroad cars...

Eason eventually moved to KSFO in the afternoon drive slot, but then Michael Savage came on the scene and Eason's show was reduced to give Savage more time. The two didn't get along, and finally Eason retired from KSFO. A few years later, Savage syndicated nationally and then left KSFO for KNEW 910.

I remember that...Eason did early afternoons and was cut back an hour for Savage, and got real grumpy about it.

You're confusing KGO with KSFO.

KSFO played it straight this morning [re the Bernie Ward story], as far as I heard. They included it in their straight local news segment after the ABC News feed

No, I just read it wrong. I thought I read KGO instead of KSFO, since you mentioned ABC. I know that KGO is affiliated with ABC, but I wasn't aware that KSFO was. I'm trying to sort it all out on Wikipedia.

KSFO used to be owned by ABC Radio, but was divested last year when ABC sold off most of its radio network. KSFO still uses the ABC news feeds on the hour.
