3-5 PM December 24, 1982 I was acting director of the California Youth Authority. Highest ranking person amongst the 6 left in a building of 400 employees. Missed my opportunity to call the governor’s office and make mischief.

As a contract worker its play to pay.
Hoping my office stays open so I can afford Christmas.

W pleased a bunch of bureaucrats. Of course, none of them voted for him.

Good, the more days government employees spend at home is just less days they have to screw around with the rest of us. ;^)
That said I hope they all have a Merry Christmas.

My company just did the same thing........ except no holiday pay, use your vacation or go un-paid for the day.

This means that all the office parties will have to happen the previous Friday (12/21). So, no work will get done that day either.

I have no problem with this. Going to work on Christmas Eve is a joke anyway...especially if you’re a government employee.

This only the helps the contractors (like me), 99% of Federal Employees wouldn’t be there anyway.
Well, I guess they get to save a day of leave - now they’ll only have 13^8 days left per employee.

Now, if we can get him to issue a decree giving the gov't employee's off for the rest of the days of the year we would be great shape!
And that includes Congress!
