I have no problem with this. Going to work on Christmas Eve is a joke anyway...especially if you’re a government employee.

What many here don’t grasp is that the furlough notices are probably going out that same day, so it isn’t a very Merry XMAS this year for gov’t employees, thanks to folks who can’t politic very well to a schedule.

WRT leave, I know between layoffs, reserve duty, and minimum work experience accrued before one could take a XMAS vacation to see relatives in a different state, I’ve basically worked for 25 years with only 3 vacations, all of which happened to coincide with layoffs from contract completion or corporate downsizing, or the government running out of money. Vacations without pay aren’t fun when there isn’t a sure job waiting after the holiday and all indictions are that you’ve been screwed out of retirement pay.

IMHO, we are approaching a window of vulnerability between now and 3 months into the next Presidency. Many forces are deployed or burned out, Congress still hasn’t funded DoD for the full year, the political squabbles boil down to adding a trailer to promote a homosexual agenda, and a strong leader in the conservative front promotes a cult to Christianity with political guidance strategizing that those who know the truth about Christ won’t vote for him anyways, but those who don’t really know the truth might be won over to support him by a heartfelt strong speech, and they probably have been.

One thing I am very grateful for this XMAS season is that God in this age of grace, doesn’t simply slap the crap out of the US. Not because of those who don’t know him, but because of those who do know him and really fail to remain in fellowship with Him, but try to build world empires without any agape love for their fellow man and building their paradise independent of faith alone in Christ alone. For this I am indeed very thankful and will enjoy taking that extra holiday as a graceful opportunity worshipping Him in simple faith alone through Christ alone. God Bless our President and may we as a nation return to Him on His grounds.
