West Bend - As readers of a conservative blog debated the subject of teacher salaries, a writer using the pseudonym "Observer" weighed in.The West Bend teachers' salaries made him sick, the person wrote, adding that the 1999 Columbine High School killers had the right idea. "They knew how to deal with the overpaid teacher union thugs. One shot at a time! Too bad the liberls (sic) rip them; they were heros (sic) and should be remembered that way," the writer said. But police say the writer was a teacher himself - and the past president of a teachers union - apparently posing as a teacher-hater. James Buss was arrested Thursday by West Bend police, and the 46-year-old Cudahy man could face criminal charges. He has been suspended from his job as a teacher at Oak Creek High School.
Buss, a former president of the Oak Creek School District's teachers union, is on an indefinite leave of absence from the school pending further investigation, district Superintendent Sara Larsen said. He teaches chemistry and has been employed at the school since 1994....
But Owen Robinson, a West Bend resident and administrator of bootsandsabers.com - a collection of news and conservative commentary where the message was posted at 6:50 p.m. Nov. 16 - said Friday that it seemed that "Observer" was "posing as a conservative, right-wing whack job to discredit" the Web site's discussion of teachers' salaries....The blog discussion began when Robinson noted that the Journal Sentinel had an online database on teacher salaries at JSOnline.com....
A teacher employed by the West Bend School District read the message later that evening and immediately contacted School District administrators, West Bend police Capt. Toby Netko said....Buss was arrested Thursday and released from the Washington County Jail after posting $300 bail....

This is like the swastikas on black students’ doors. It always seems to turn out to be self-inflicted.
BTW, is one of the prerequisites to starting a conservative forum or blog include being named “Robinson”?
These nut will do anything. Having a lot of free time helps.
That stuff seems to happen here on FR, too.
how did they know it was him?
ping
Usually they get caught and called out. Zot.
Computers have addresses......Big Bro is watching, TASER at the ready...........
Not unlike the “questions” and questioners on the GOP-CNN Youtube debates.......
(The above quote has been approved by Dan 'fake but accurate' Rather.)
It looks to me like the idiot teacher can’t even spell! If a teacher actually posted that, he should be fired for being ignorant.
Most likely still being paid his "overpaid teacher union thugs" wage while on LOA.
Read the article. Moron posted from his home computer.
and they stand out like sore thumbs, too. DU types and other liberal whackjobs seem to think(?) that if you are going to pose as a conservative you must act like the parody of conservatives that Hollyweird has put in their empty little heads.......
Probably all part of the ruse, trying to show that conservatives are ignorant and stupid..........
It is all about group-ism and making yourself a victim.
i figured that, but you can’t just get someone’s IP. i guess the cops thought it was a direct threat and got a warrant. serves the guy right.
He was a teacher. That says it all...........
The guy should be fired but I’m a bit concerned that he was arrested.
I’m not sure where the line is between unpopular speech and a threat, but I would not call this a crime.
The article doesn’t say how they identified “Observer”, the teacher named James Buss.
“Netko said Buss posted the message from his home computer.”
How did they come to know that unless Owen Robinson, the site owner, gave the police an IP log of “Observer”? Owen Robinson states that the arrest was an over-reaction but there was no court order forcing him to turn over the IP record. And then of course, the teacher’s ISP would have to identify where that IP address led to.
All said, it’s obvious the teacher was a Class A troll trying to discredit a conservative website.
