Mitt Romney is under fire for being caught a second time using a landscaping company that employs illegal immigrants.
The Republican presidential candidate on Tuesday fired a landscaping company that worked at his home in Boston after he said he learned it employs illegal immigrants.
With Romney locked in a tight race for the top spot in the GOP's upcoming Iowa caucuses, the company -- which he said he gave a "second chance" after similar information arose last year -- had become an easy target for Romney's political opponents.
In the statement, Romney said he met with the owner of the company, Community Lawn Service, last year and agreed to keep using it after the owner guaranteed him he would only employ legal workers.
Tuesday's announcement came after the Boston Globe approached the campaign with what a campaign official called "credible information" that the company continued to employ illegal workers -- including some at the Romney home.
According to the Globe, several workers who told reporters they were not in the country legally were "in plain view" on Mitt Romney’s property the morning after that debate, and virtually weekly over the past two months. They also observed the same crew working at the home of Romney's son Tagg.
During a CNN/YouTube debate last week, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani attacked Romney for living in a "sanctuary mansion" where illegal immigrants were allowed to work.
Romney explained his strong opposition to a proposed comprehensive immigration reform bill in May and said "it gives people who are here illegally a very substantial advantage over those who've been standing in line in their home country, it's really unfair to those that play by the rules."
Could it be that the owner of the landscaping company is screwin’ with Mitt? I wonder if that owner is a lib or a dem donor????

Can you, with 100-percent certainty, say that no illegal has EVER served you food in a restaurant, or fixed your car, or done a plumbing job, or stitched a garment of clothes you wear, or paved your driveway?

If you LIKE some other candidate, then put out some supportive comments about him or her.

The Globe said that two of the guys raking leaves said they were Illegal. I doubt it. How do they know La Migra isn’t posing as a News Team, which may be a good idea. The TV crew went to the employer’s house (Mitt does not employ landscapers, the landscaping company does)and he said that his employees have SS cards and papers stating Legal Status. Joe Battenfeld came across as a joke last night with this as a lead story. Are those two Illegal? Prove it!
There are a lot of reasons for why I don’t support Romney. This isn’t one of them. It would be one thing if this were a maid or nanny that was directly employed by him. I wouldn’t expect nor want him to micromanage the staffing of a landscaping company. That said, I should hope the landscaping company is called to account for their illegal hiring practices.
I can say with 100% certianty that I have never employed an illegal.
I owned my own business for 5 years.
And no illegal has ever done my yardwork.

Im probably going to vote for Romney or Thompson, so far....But it does look really stupid to continue using this landscaper. You’re right, that we are probably surrounded by illegals doing certain jobs, but if Mitt cant find a landscaper that only has legal citizens, than try hiring the kid down the street or....he can start his own company! But to continue, KNOWINGLY, keeping illegals employed, well, thats just silly. I personally am quite happy doing my own yardwork (and its alot) than even the chance of hiring illegals, and if I go to a restaurant and even sense illegals there, I dont go again.

Your question does not address Mitt's problem. Mitt's problem is he hired the maintenance company, he knew years ago they had illegals. Mitt helped the owner become a member of the LDS, the owner got rid of the illegals and ended up rehiring illegal replacements. Mitt's situation and the contractor are beyond your examples.
You cannot defend Mitt, so you just drift around with these asinine statements and questions. Mitt is Liberal, double talker.

No, Mitt did not “fire” anyone in his “employment”. Mitt chose not to be a “customer” anymore.

So he didn’t hire that company?
Amazing. I always thought that if someone works for me, I have hired them. Now I find out that didn’t.

I'm no Romney fan and I am totally in favor of rounding up and deporting all of the criminal invaders.
Having said that, where I live in the Chicago burbs, it's virtually impossible to get anything you mention above (and a whole lot more) done without directly or indirectly providing employment to an illegal of some ilk. And, I'm not just talking Mexicans.

If you have a real defense of Romney then make it, don’t change the subject and start using ridiculous comparisons.
This was an 11 year relationship that would have continued forever if Romney had not been caught a year ago, and then been outed on national television combined with another article telling the world that Mitt Romney was STILL using the same people.
Romney was even pushing these illegals onto other people like his own son.
