I didn’t think he had any long term shot anyway.
To: pissant
Huckabee’s name could easily be supplanted with Hillary Clinton, Harry Reid, Teddy Kennedy etc...

Yes, I know Huckabee was kind enough to bring his band to play at a FR Christmas event in D.C. But he's raised taxes in Arkansas, he helped a rapist get out early who repaid the favor by committing new crimes. And now, he wants to close Gitmo because "the world doesn't like it."
What's he been doing, taking Ruth Bader Ginsburg pills?
I think it would be a healthy shake-up for the Republican side for Huckabee to win in Iowa. On the other hand, I don't think he is sufficiently conservative nor sufficiently serious to wind up on the ticket, even as Veep.
Is that how most of the people on FR feel about Mike? Or, do any significant number of the folks here take him seriously as a candidate?

I’m a Fred supporter, but Hunter is the only other candidate I would ever want as president.

Huckabee is soft on illegals, terrorists, and government waste.Yeah... but he's tough as nails on smokers!
To: pissant
Huckabee has sank himself with this. Does Huckabee want these terrorists released to his local correctional facility, so if they escape, they are in his neighborhood for the local law enforcement agencies to deal with?

Bush got where he is by being the best option for nominee. Not the most conservative. The best option. The two categories overlap, but they are not identical.

"why do we have to have so many liberals running" Because with the exception of Fred, Duncan, and Tom T., they were selected for us by MSM. What do you expect?

This dude is a huckster out of the Bill Clinton mold. He’ll tax the hell out of us, he’s all for benefits for illegals and now he’s talking about closing Gitmo, because the world doesn’t like it!!!
