Bill Clinton: Wife's record not covered
By PHILIP ELLIOTT, Associated Press Writer 15 minutes ago
Bill Clinton said Tuesday that if reporters covered the candidates' public records better, his wife's presidential bid would be far ahead of her rivals.
During a campaign stop on behalf of his wife, New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, the former president said he can't understand why so much of the media coverage of the campaign ignores her experience and, without naming him, the relative lack of experience of her closest Democratic rival, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama.
"One percent of the press coverage was devoted to their record in public life. No wonder people think experience is irrelevant. A lot of the people covering the race think it is (irrelevant)," Clinton said to students at Keene State College.
Clinton referenced a study from the Project for Excellence in Journalism that indicated much of the coverage of the race is dominated by daily horse race reporting rather than about policy issues.
"Sixty-seven percent of the coverage is pure politics. That stuff has a half life of about 15 seconds. It won't matter tomorrow. It is very vulnerable to being slanted and rude. And it won't affect your life," Clinton said.
Clinton also said his wife's bipartisan work in the Senate proves she can accomplish her campaign's message of change, and that records matter more than rhetoric. He said that when voters look at records and accomplishments, they will see clear choices between the New York senator and her rivals.
"I would pick her and be here if we weren't married," Clinton said.

“I would pick her and be here if we weren’t married,” Clinton said”
As others have noted long before, Bill Clinton is an unusually good liar.
As this demonstrates.
“I would pick her and be here if we weren’t married,” Clinton said.
Doubtful, Bill. I think you’d be hiding in the hills of Bolivia with a few Hooters girls before you endorsed the candidacy of someone like Hillary.
Experience in what?
Notice he doesn’t mention just what her accomplishments are.
Being cuckcolded, apparently.
They might be able to cover it better if she hadn’t had the records shredded.
What experience? All she’s done her entire life is ride around on Bill’s coattails.
one of the techniques Bill uses is this...
“ I will remind you ....
“Like I have said many times before..”
Then he says whatever he wants to say even though he has never uttered the words in his life. It puts reporters on the defensive as though they didnt catch something the first time.
Experience in handling very swiftly the Rochester, NH “Hostage Crisis of 2007”...

The former president said he can't understand why so much of the media coverage of the campaign ignores Hillary's experience.
I can't either. But if the media ever paid attention to Hillary's record, she would have a record. The World's Smartest Woman would be in the pen for, among other things, murder, fraud, money laundering and campaign finance violations.
Sure. Hillary would be much better off if we got past the pablum of the horse race and just stuck with policy questions:
"Senator Clinton, do you favor drivers licenses for illegal immigrants?"
"Yes. Which is to say No. Except when the answer should be maybe."
Theft, murder, bribary, campaign finance fraud, deception, etc.
Pick her what?
Yep, but it only works if the reporters are sympathetic to the guy in the first place, which they are.
Bill has seen the polls and is worried he..oops she wont get elected.
So far Bill has been a albatross on her campaign. Reminds everyone how deceitful they are.
..but I didn’t inhale...
Only the Clintons would limit access to the media and then complain about a lack of in depth coverage. The chutzpah of these people is absolutely limitless
Wedgie?
guess what bill also has no record of experience. The only thing he did was sign welfare reform which was a republican bill. They are experts at campaigning not governing. Do you all remember after Clinton was elected for months he was going out to glad hand in the streets like he was still running? He knew how to win races but not actually do the office.
