I never thought of women who repeatedly get nekkid in public for money as being particularly devout.

Just Eve in her innocence disrobing without shame.

“Life of Brian” IS a classic, for those with a sense of humor.

“Always look at the bright side of life.....”

“Curious whether anybody has actually read the books. Or seen the movie. If you have seen the movie, how is it outside of the religious objections?”

The biiks were actually quite well written. Some people can’t differentiate between literature and real life though, and will destroy a book or movie because of that.

The books are designed to draw readers in, and their anti-Christian purpose does not become evident until the second and third volumes. So it’s not surprising that this first movie SEEMS innocent.

Even if the movies completely transform the books, which is doubtful, they are still extremely dangerous, because they will inspire parents and children to read the books.

The books are specifically anti-Catholic, but they are also a carefully orchestrated attack on Christianity in general, and against the idea of God.

The ultimate message is that God is a weak, interfering busybody, who must be killed so the two young heroes can have good sex.

Do we really want our kids to get that message? I think we need to ensure that the makers of this movie lose their shirts, and are sorry they ever had anything to do with Pullman.

What is it that you question about Glinda?

Witches aren’t good. The Bible is very explicit about that.

Is that true for all actresses...even the ugly ones?

I’m a big movie fan and I’m not someone who gets upset with every film with a controversial storyline or nudity or sex or violence (see my Freeper page). But I do get tired of the cowardly attacks on Christianity by artists and filmmakers who wouldn’t dare ridicule Islam in the same manner. And I get tired of the constant stream of anti-American films as well.

I prefer to make my own decisions, even at the cost of a couple of tickets.

I doubt that you’ll find much to object to in the first film. From what I’ve read, it’s in the third installment of the trilogy that we learn that God is a weak fraud and that Christianity is a scam created to keep young people from enjoying sex.

It’ll be interesting to see how they handle that in the third installment, if the series gets that far.

I’m pretty sure we won’t find anything to object to, unless it’s just a crummy movie. The only movie I can recall recently that really was offensive, was ‘The Road To Terabithia’.

But as fiction, how does it really matter?
