It’s Official: No Democratic Delegates From Michigan as well as Florida
Ballot Acces News ^ | 12/1/07 | Richard Winger

Posted on 12/04/2007 6:28:28 AM PST by SoFloFreeper

On December 1, the Democratic National Committee stripped Michigan of all its delegates to the August 2008 national convention in Denver. The move had been expected, since Michigan will select delegates at a January 15 primary. National Democratic rules forbid any state except Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina from choosing delegates before February.

Michigan Democrats are now in the same position as Florida Democrats, who also have no delegates. The national committee vote was not unanimous, but it was a voice vote, so there is no tally.

gutless committee wouldn't even tally votes: just a "voice vote". Hope you Democrat voters in Florida and Michigan who lurk here recognize the fact your party appartchiks are denying your voice...they know better than you, after all, who ought to be the nominee.

So does this mean that there is no point in the candidates going to Michigan or Florida to campaign?
At the convention when they call roll Michigan and Florida will not be on the floor?
Wow, what is the reaction of the dems in those states - no representation.

And here I thought the Democrats were all about preventing voter disenfranchisement. I remember them saying something about it, anyway...

What would happen with regards to getting the Democratic “Winner” on the ballots of Mi and Fl? The State parties have to do the legwork, right? Would they rebel?

Frankly, I’m glad to see that one of the parties has the balls to act against the howlingly stupid race to start the primary season in the middle of the previous century.

(Of course it would’ve been nice if, say, they believed in enforcing rules in their churches back when fudge-packers, carpet munchers, miscreants, atheists, druids, dhimmis and Marxists were taking over those churches, so I’m not congratulating them.)

The nominee will demand their presence at convention. Too bad they don’t teach their party a lesson.

De-mock-crazy in action. Republicans should invite the disenfranchised Democrat voters to their convention and let them vote (it will be meaningless but symbolic).

What's the point of Dems going out to vote since they won't be counted/represented at the convention ??

All of these gyrations over primary dates have been instigated by Team Clinton to ensure her coronation. Now the votes of millions will not be counted, all to ensure Hillary! gets her shot at the White House.

So next time a Clintonista starts whining about how we need to "count every vote", remember who was behind the disenfranchisement of entire states.

This should be a huge issue in Michigan and Florida. If a single person in either state casts a vote for Hillary!, they are endorsing the process that has stripped their vote of any meaning.

If it were the GOP that did this I think long and hard about voting DEM in the primaries and screw with their ballot.

I agree. This whole business of all the state moving up their primaries has gotten completely rediculous. Iowa and New Hampshire used to be very early testing grounds, the kickoff of the campaign season. Now they’re just the cap gun starting off a sprint. The DNC warned them they would do this, and the state parties chose to move up the primaries anyway.

Wouldn’t it be funny if Michigan voted Republican in November due to this?

This translates as: Michigan, Florida and national Dems collaborate to ensure that MI and FL GOP primaries are rendered useless by Dem crossovers who want their primary vote to count for something.

Don’t bother having hope; the union workers in MI will pull the lever (D) in November regardless. I’ve tried to talk to them, they can be reasonable and even agree with conservative positions but at the end they will still insist on voting the union card, all (D), because “that’s my paycheck.”

In 2000 and 2004 the rats claimed Republicans blocked African Americans from voting... but never provided a single concrete example.

Now they disenfranchise two entire states with a “voice vote”.

Cowards. Criminals. Liars.
