The U.S. government admitted today in federal court that the prosecution's star witness in the criminal trial of Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean confessed drug dealer Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila lied under oath. "He told some lies on the stand," Mark Stelmach, the assistant U.S. attorney representing prosecutor U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton said under questioning by a three-judge 5th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals panel in New Orleans

If these kinds of developments continue, the judge(s) may overturn the verdict. That would be better than a pardon. Of course, that would reflect poorly on GW, on Alberto G, and on US Atty Sutton.
Yeah, thought of that after I entered the post. A pardon means someone was actually found guilty of something. In this case I hope only the Border Guards are not found guilty...others are way past guilt.

My thoughts exactly!
Sad damn state of affairs when GW lets this BS continue.......
I agree. These two agents should have been pardoned a long time ago. The President is way off base on this.

What a shock. Aldreete lied and so did Johnny”scumbag” Sutton
I’ve posted above, but Iwill ask you this question.
What smells about this statement in WND?
“Higginbotham rebuked Stelmach’s suggestion that Aldrete-Davila’s drug history prior to the Feb. 17, 2005, incident with the border agents was not relevant to the trial. The judge argued the second load was relevant because it showed Aldrete-Davila had a brazen disregard for the law, a key factor in evaluating his testimony for the prosecution.”
A little bit of new info. Thanks for the ping!
There were a dozen or so violations of his immunity agreement that I have counted but Sutton and his minions let them ALL slide. Hopefully the admission by the AUSA that OAD lied under oath will be enough to have someone disbarred and ensure that Johnny Sutton's illustrious career is not advanced any further.
Bob was wrong. He trusted Sutton
I was listening to some lady presstitute discuss on Glen Beck radio this AM that Sutton was sitting in back of courtroom with the “audience” .......he ran like a rabbit when the gavel dropped on this session..........calling his handlers no doubt.
Sad thing is WE knew this POS drug runner was lying and Sutton was using him to poor cold water on a hot effort by the BP to stop illegals. Criminal. Sutton needs to do time for such crap to pour cold water on the loose cannon US Justice system IMO.........
Stay safe !
The only place Sutton testified was before a Senate hearing. The case was prosecuted by two of his minions, AUSAs Debra Kanof and Jose Luis Gonzalez. The latter two definitely knew that OAD lied--in fact, they helped it along in opening and closing arguments.
Mr. President, WAKE UP AND SMELL THE IMPEACHMENT

Border Patrol finds pot at possible tunnel opening

A Border Patrol agent working with a specially trained dog discovered about 15,000 pounds of marijuana and what appears to be the opening of a tunnel inside a shipping container near Tecate early Monday.
The trailer-sized container is on a private lot about a quarter mile northwest of the border crossing.
The tunnels opening is in the floor of the container, said Sammy Anderson, head of the Border Patrols El Cajon office. The opening is about 3 feet by 3 feet and appears to be reinforced with lumber.
The dog led the agent to the container about 4:45 a.m. The door was slightly ajar, Border Patrol spokesman Damon Foreman said, and when the agent opened it farther, an individual inside jumped into the tunnel opening and has not been found.
Mexican authorities are continuing to look for the other end of the tunnel in the Mexican city of Tecate. An interagency tunnel task force is testing the passageway to ensure it is properly ventilated before agents venture deep inside, Foreman said.
No arrests have been made. The container is on private property, but authorities have not yet determined who owns it.
Johnny (Nifong) Sutton should be disbarred and prosecuted as should the judge.
