The U.S. government admitted today in federal court that the prosecution's star witness in the criminal trial of Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean – confessed drug dealer Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila – lied under oath. "He told some lies on the stand," Mark Stelmach, the assistant U.S. attorney representing prosecutor U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton said under questioning by a three-judge 5th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals panel in New Orleans

If the assistant US attorney knew Aldrete-Davila lied under oath, why didn't US attorney Sutton know? This shows collusion or incompetence on Sutton's part.

Sutton not only knew, he participated in the lies. Sutton lied to the American public and he lied before the congressional inquiry into the matter. A local station here (KSEV) has taken the lead along with Congressman Ted Poe and expose Johnny Sutton for his part in this travesty.

Sutton kept saying he would arrest the drug runner if he could find him when it has now been made known that federal marshals, under Sutton's direction, were escorting the drug runner to and from an El Paso hospital so he could be treated for his injuries sustained from the shooting. Aldrete-Davila wasn't arrested until this fact was made public.

Why is it no one can explain why the Border Patrol Agents shot at an unarmed suspect, buried the shell casings and failed to report the shooting?

Am I right in concluding that you think that testimony that goes to the character of a witness is not admissible?

Weren't Martha Stewart and Scooter Libby convicted for lying to the feds?

I guess there's lies and then there's damn lies.

Tell his mommy on him?

Given the way the administration has reacted to the case thus far, it's very likely that's the only punishment Suton will receive. Ugh.

Well, Sutton is a Bush Buddy, after all. Bush Buddies get the benefit of the doubt in all circumstances.

I think Johnny Sutton should do an equal amount of time under the same conditions...

I concur; of course, I thought Mike Nifong should have been tried facing the same penalties as the boys on the Duke Lacrosse Team that he tried to railroad. What were they facing? Seems like "Fifteen to 20 Years" (for each of the three who were charged) would have been a fair sentence. Wouldn't have bothered me one bit for "Mikey" to wind up as someone "girlfriend" - POS...

GOOD GRIEF!! Do you think Bush has the time to look at EVERY detail of this case?? NO, he doesn’t...he trusted his “friend” to tell him the truth and he’s letting the court decide. Geesh..Bush has a WAR to run and WIN....plus a ton of other things.

I thought attorneys, even prosecutors, were bound by their code of ethics to come forward when they know that a witness is lying under oath.

Shouldn’t there be a prosecution a la Nifong for misconduct on the part of these persecutors...er...prosecutors.

HORSE SHI+!!!

The loud and constant screams from his very base from the beginning of this case had to penetrate his synapses.

Unless he is every bit as stupid as the Demoncraps have always claimed.

Which, on more mature consideration, I can’t quite rule out.

Grow up....he does NOT interfere in things....and he still trusts the courts that he is in charge of.

“Why is it no one can explain why the Border Patrol Agents shot at an unarmed suspect, buried the shell casings and failed to report the shooting?’

Shooting at the unarmed suspect is a he said - she said. The border agents say they saw what they thought was a gun. The suspect said he didn’t have a gun. If the suspect was a one time mule, he probably didn’t have a gun. If the suspect was a drug runner, the odds are he had a gun for his own protection.

The incident was reported to the Border Agents superior. According to BP policy, the superior should have filed the report. I don’t have all the details on why the superiors weren’t faulted for not writing the report or why this was or wasn’t introduced during the trial.

The prosecutor piled on the charges to see what would stick and was successful at keeping evidence that would have beneficial to the defense out of court.

You obviously haven’t seen Nancy Grace’s record for ethics as a prosecutor.

Must be getting hot down there in Texas for Sutton to fear the need to put out this press release.

I read it about a year ago. I searched for the article but couldn’t find it, so I can’t source it. Take it for what it is worth.

This is a fabrication by WND. The original article was from an AP reporter who said the JD attorney saif OAD had lied about a couple items during initial interviews. What he lied about we don’t know, could have been something important or nothing at all.

WND changed the story for ratings. This alone should tell you WND cannot be trusted as a news source. They are sensationalizing each report because they think you are too stupid gto know the difference.

The problem is too many people are.

The gun issue is not he said-she said. R&C never took any kind of precautions one would expect an LEO to take when there is an armed perp in the area. They never took any kind of cover, and in fact stood up straight in the vega during the shoot and after as they watched for OAD. They calmly walked back to the levee. They didn’t shout out “shots!” or “gun!” as they are trained to do when they see a weapon. They never notified other agents at the scene that there was an armed gunmen. They never said anything about a “black shiny objct” until much later.

The bottomn line is R&C never at any time acted as if they were confronting an armed suspect and that is why the jury didn’t buy their story.
