On globalization, Pat echoes the Seattle street protesters, seasoned with some John Edwards "Two Americas" rhetoric about Wall Street fat cats. On foreign policy, Pat sounds like someone auditioning for Secretary of Peace in Pres. Kucinich's cabinet.

Democrats are simply better about lying about their love of globalization but both parties are the same when it comes down to it.
Well it’s certainly true, Pat Buchanan isn’t a “free trade” sell-out.
Then again, why on earth, would he want to be?
“Gasbag Pat” write another book then hits the talk shows hawking his latest series of ultra rightwing rants.
Pat ain’t ultra right wing. He’s just a confused fool. Right on a few issues and ignorant about most others.
Is Pat a Republican now?
Last I checked, he ran for President as a member of the Reform Party. When did he decide to be a Republican again?
Or is it just easier to get on these Sunday morning talk shows by saying that you’re a Republican and then bashing other Republicans?
I have to agree with Pat on many things. The neocons have sold us out to Corporate America, who have in turn sold us out to our foreign competition.
Sounds like Pat’s getting nice and comfy over there at MSNBC.
The GOP is running scared on the trade issue these days and refusal to confront it will be their downfall.
First of all, an attack on Iran wouldn't even be close to "the same thing" as what's been happening in the Iraqi theater. The latter is a counter-insurgency and nation-building effort; the former would be a quick strike primarly designed to neutralize Iran's nuclear program. ....no occcupation. Pat equating Iraq with Iran is unfathomably stupid. ....he's no doubt losing his mind.
Secondly, if he wants to talk about interventionism, he should look no further than Kosovo -- a Clinton operation.
Pat was on Coast-to-Coast AM Wednesday night/Thursday morning pushing his book with George Noorey. Really sad.
You are correct—the GOP needs to pander to those voters who will otherwise vote Democrat.

Also people who wants to go back to the days in where supposedly everyone had a good paying a job in a factory (never mind the rest of the world was either bombed or had no infrastructure after WWII until the late 60’s and early 70’s)...

But seriously, my point is that while Pat’s is an interesting voice, in no way, shape or form can he be taken as a partisan Republican for purposes of balancing Dem advocates.
So, everything the democrats are for is ipso facto bad, everything the democrats are against is ipso facto good, everything the republicans are for is ipso facto good and everything the republicans are against is ipso facto bad?

The cheap labor agenda drives Republicans away to Independents or Democrats. Fair trade isn’t pandering to the Democrats, its getting them back. Mostly independents (Ross Perot).
Back in the glory days of “Crossfire” on CNN. Pat was (and still is to an extent) a top-notch debater for the conservative side. I stopped watching what was then my favorite program when they replaced him with John Sununu and Mary Matalin.
