More gay men describe sexual encounters with U.S. Sen. Craig
Idaho Statesman ^ | 12/02/07 | DAN POPKEY

David Phillips. Mike Jones. Greg Ruth. Tom Russell.

Four gay men, willing to put their names in print and whose allegations can't be disproved, have come forward since news of U.S. Sen. Larry Craig's guilty plea. They say they had sex with Craig or that he made a sexual advance or that he paid them unusual attention.

They are telling their stories now because they are offended by Craig's denials, including his famous statement, "I am not gay, I never have been gay." Those words, spoken on live national TV on Aug. 28, are now memorialized on a just-released-for-Christmas Talking Senator Larry Craig Action Figure.

David Phillips is a 42-year-old information technology consultant in Washington, D.C., who says Craig picked him up at a gay club in 1986 and that they subsequently had sex.

Mike Jones is a former prostitute who told the world he had sex with the Rev. Ted Haggard last year. The former Colorado Springs evangelist at first denied it but eventually confessed. Jones says Craig paid him for sex in late 2004 or early 2005.

Greg Ruth was a 24-year-old college Republican in 1981 when he says he was hit on by Craig at a Republican meeting in Coeur d'Alene.

Tom Russell, now 48, is a former Nampa resident who lives in Utah. Russell said his encounter with Craig occurred at Bogus Basin in the early 1980s.

A fifth gay man, who is from Boise but who declined to be named for fear of retaliation, offered a recent and telling account: He was in a men's restroom at Denver International Airport in September 2006 when the man in the next stall moved his hand slowly, palm up, under the divider. Alarmed,....

Why should anyone think Republicans are immune from being gay?

What about his initial plea of guilty and statement that he intended to resign?

Do you want him to continue in politics?

Why should political correct view of gays, cloud Craigs crime of using and abusing his wife and voters.

If it is not the crime, so to speak, it definitely is the coverup.

Craig is an opportunistic, lying scum, who happens to be gay. That’s the best that can be said of him.

Yeah, I read that this morning and immediately thought about that British pop star from Wham (George Michael?). Craig should never have sought public office if he thought his perverse bent would never be discovered.

Meanwhile our Titans seem to be taking another punking from another lesser-talented team...believe it or not the Texans have a player named “Dane”.

Hey, I’m glad to see you weren’t the guy whacked in Antioch the other night. Do you know what that was about?

On the other hand all the women to came forward to tell how they were sexually assaulted by Bill Clinton were dismissed by the main stream press as politically motivated.....

Craig is a liar. He lied about resigning. This was just a ploy and he made sure he would be around to vote for the DREAB act.

I am glad he was exposed. He only pretended to be a conservative to hold on to his seat while he supported illegal aliens.

"Yeah, I read that this morning and immediately thought about that British pop star from Wham (George Michael?). Craig should never have sought public office if he thought his perverse bent would never be discovered."

Since Larry was big into singing, perhaps he and George Michael could've become a duo. Can't you just picture him looking lovingly into GM's eyes while singing, "Wake me up before ya go-go, don't keep me hangin' on like a yo-yo..." ? ;-)

"Hey, I’m glad to see you weren’t the guy whacked in Antioch the other night. Do you know what that was about?"

Was that Artelia Drive ? That's about a mile and a half or so away. We've never had any murders close-in, although I could've watched out my window almost a decade ago when my neighbor walked out to his shed and offed himself. I think that bad mojo has hung over this 'hood ever since. I used to know people over in that area around Barclay Square and Richards Road in the '80s when I was in school (all almost entirely working-class White, now Black and illegal, probably more of the latter), but I think they've all since departed. Those areas just aren't safe anymore. I only watch local news if I haven't changed the channel after my ABC soaps and Judge Judy. I'm tired of hearing about what horror has happened in our city on a given day, it just makes me ill.

Maybe, but if these four alleged that YOU had sex with them, could their allegations be disproved? Craig should submit to an HIV antibodies test and release the results. If he is as promiscuous as claimed, he will test positive for the antibodies.

What about his initial plea of guilty and statement that he intended to resign?

His pathetic attempts to renege on those actions paints him as not only a pervert but a coward. But neither of those is a crime. We're not talking about whether he's guilty, but about whether the state can PROVE that he's guilty.

Do you want him to continue in politics?

What I want isn't important. This is less about Larry Craig than it is about judicial principles.

Denial of what? I don't know if Larry Craig is a homo or not. But based on the "evidence" presented by the state, the conclusion that he is is hardly definitive. I'm not denying anything; I'm just observing that the state has a burden of proof that it has not met in this case.

LOL

Since you won’t or can’t move I’ll continue to worry about you until you do.

But soap operas and Judge Judy? Dude! Judy’s great but I’d rather be hobbying than watching soaps. Deep down in your britches, yep, those are nads and they say do something productive or at least something of a legacy. After demonstrating your superior knowledge of political history for years here I believe you can put a definitive book together that would ignite new interest in a subject most people run from. If you did this you would be personally responsible for causing the Democrat Party serious damage.

Maybe he isn’t gay. He could be bi.

But whichever he is, his seeking sex in a public setting disqualifies him from holding public office.

I bet he has his current boyfriend/hookup ask him repeatedly if he’s gay while they are so engaged, just so he can scream that he’s not. I think it turns him on that he’s such a “bad boy.”

Exactly. Just like Bill Clinton.

A serious conservative who happens to be a monogamous gay person could serve his/her country well. But a loser who is sneaking sex all the time in public and other crude ways? Sorry. I don't care which orientation. UNFIT. And a danger to our national security.

"Maybe he isn’t gay. He could be bi."

Dennis Miller once said bisexuals are the greediest people around, 'They need to get off the fence and pick a hole.'

"But whichever he is, his seeking sex in a public setting disqualifies him from holding public office."

Well, there goes Slick Willie. Think Hil and Huma have gotten it on in a stall ?
