Look Who's Cool On Obama
NY Post Page Six ^ | Dec.2,2007

WHY aren't the nation's two most prominent civil-rights leaders enthusiastically supporting Barack Obama, the most prominent African-American presidential candidate in history? Political sources say Rev. Al Sharpton and Rev. Jesse Jackson are lukewarm to Obama because he hasn't promised them anything yet in return for their support. "Obama should be applauded for refusing to make any backroom deals," said one source. "And this should be very reassuring to white voters that Obama isn't playing their games."

Jesse Jackson is already owned by the Clintons.

Al Sharpton and Rev. Jesse Jackson are lukewarm to Obama because ... he threatens to cut into their fleecing operations.

"...because he hasn't promised them anything yet in return for their support."

That pretty much says it all. Jackson and Sharpton are opportunists and are looking solely to enhance their own power and prestige. If Obama were to get the the nomination they would be licking his boots.

Because he will be the “most influential A/American”
and they can’t accept that.

Maybe this is the one positive thing about BHO.

I would not promise Jackson and Sharpton anything either. Hell I may even consider Obama for that decision.

“Al Sharpton and Rev. Jesse Jackson are lukewarm to Obama because ... he threatens to cut into their fleecing operations.”

!Correcto!

They are about $$$$, which they get by being the MSM-designated spokesmen for black Americans.

A black president, or even a black Democratic nominee, would strip them of that mantel, once and for all.

No MSM spotlights, no power and no money.

“WHY aren’t the nation’s two most prominent civil-rights leaders enthusiastically supporting Barack Obama?”

Why support the competition?

Hell I may even consider Obama for that decision.

If that's sarcasm, it doesn't show in print, if you're serious, it's just plain nuts.

I bet Jesse and Al would love a bit fat cut from Oprah.

The race would forever be removed from their hustlers deck if Obama were to win the nomination. They can’t have that happen.

Not only will he cut into their money-making operations, but I firmly believe that they know just what a lightweight Obama really is. His lack of experience would lead to a disaster of a Presidency which wouldn't bode well for any future black candidates.

The last thing that Sharpton and Jackson want is a rehash of the William Jefferson / Cynthia McKinney sagas when Obama makes his inevitable mistakes.

Oprah can’t help with jessiwhatsinitformejackson or almoneytalkssharpton.......Oprah appeals to white women and so does Obama....and don’t forget joebiden’s assertion that Obamarama is a “clean” black man........both these figures - Oprah and Obamaramdrama draw in the whites not the blacks.......it would appear that they are hesitant to make hillarycanklesclinton the first BLACK woman president as well. Tough to be jessie/al this year.

It’s the same ‘ol garbage you hear from every minority group of whiners. Once you become educated and wealthy, they claim that you’re not the real deal.

We all know the struggles that minorities have overcome in America’s history, and of course there’s more work to do. Yet they will turn on their own who “make it.” Crazy but true!

Sometimes it’s difficult to tell with the printed word. Speaking sarcasm is so much easier by using voice inflection.

I write some outrageous things sometimes and would not stoop to using (/sar off) if someone can’t tell if I am conservative or liberal, they are free to ask or wade through the 16,973 replies I have posted so far. I could have done that with you but I’m way too lazy to do that.
