City taxpayers picked up tab for Judith Giuliani's visit to kin in Pennsylvania
New York Daily News ^ | 12-1-07 | MICHAEL SAUL and DAVID SALTONSTALL

n the fall of 2001, city cops chauffeured Rudy Giuliani's then-mistress, Judith Nathan, to her parents' Pennsylvania home 130 miles away on the taxpayers' dime.

Records show that city cops refueled at an ExxonMobil station down the road from Nathan's childhood home in Hazleton on Oct. 20, 2001, while Giuliani stayed behind in New York attending 9/11 funerals.

(snip)

The records show that - in addition to using City Hall funds to take Giuliani and Nathan to 11 secret trysts in the Hamptons, as has been previously reported - taxpayers were paying to ferry Nathan on long-distance trips without Giuliani, now a Republican contender for President.

Not necessarily. If youre under the assumption that one candidate poses the biggest threat to you wouldnt you want them gone before the general? Drop this while pushing Huckabee heavily giving Rudy a horrendous showing in Iowa and maybe you sink his whole campaign and end up with what you see as a weaker opponent.

A few days ago the Giuliani campaign offered to sell me a photo of Rudolph and Judith for as little as $25.00. For $2,500 I could have one autographed.

As much as I would just love to have a signed photo of a philanderer and his slut hanging in my parlor, I had to, reluctantly, decline.

I’m voting for whoever has an (R) next to their name in the general election. Whatever my reservations are about Giuliani my opinion is not going to be affected by a union smear machine and a partisan Democrat news media. In my opinion, Giuliani did more for public safety in New York City than any mayor since La Guardia.

In 2006 the Democrats reoccupied the U.S. government. If they take the White House next year they are sure to gain more seats in Congress. If Hillary or Obama is in office for eight years, they are likely to appoint at least one and maybe three Supreme Court justices. They will finish the job of totally politicizing the federal bureaucracy with hand-picked hacks. They will run patriots out of the military.

Not to me. He was playing around on his wife on the taxpayer dime. Not exactly a guy with a lot of character.

Ego: He most likely figures he was owed the perks using tax payers $$$. What scum.

Rudy is scum. Most conservatives are gunning for him. We're open about it - and he deserves it.

You can't make up all the crap this guy does. Let him do it with a (D) instead of an (R). If the Rockefeller wing of the Republicans wants to push this slimeball, they are not going to get covered in his excrement because it oozes from his every pore.

If they are hittting Rudy with this now, what do they still have waiting to bring out later?

And that is the sixty-four dollar question. The stuff they're bringing out now is likely to be pretty mild compared to what they'll come up with if he's the nominee against Hillary.

So character doesn’t matter. It’s his private life and we should all just MoveOn.

Gee, I’ve heard that somewhere else a few years ago.

I don't think many voters go through that kind of calculus before heading to the polls. A concentrated, focused effort like that would take coordination, e-mails from some party or campaign, and there would be a mighty backlash when those leaked out. Which they would. I could flit around the Web ans sign up for e-mail alerts from every candidate in every party. You gotta believe someone in Hallry's campaign gets Rudy's updates, and vise versa and et cetera.

Come to think of it, I'm half-tempted to set up a series of dummy e-mail accounts and sign up for every candidate's updates. Post them all to an anonymous blog. If a candidate is saying one thing to supporters and another to the public at large, he oughta get nailed for that.

Girlfriends should not get security. If they did, then so should friends.

It’s a crazy notion.

With the mayor of a city, immediate family really doesn’t fall into the “needs security” category in my mind.

Rudy is not the guy to head the Republican ticket. There’s more dirt out there than we can overcome. This guy’s gonna make the Clinton’s look saintly.

There isn’t a politician alive who wouldn’t sell his soul for enough power. It’s the nature of the calling. Some are just more obvious than others.

He and his wife were ollllllllllld news by that point in time....you want to make a big deal over a couple of hundred bucks?

The man was married. He very publicly paraded Judith around under Donna Hanover's nose. I don't care what the state of his marriage was. He was still married. Decent married men don't have mistresses. Period. If your marriage is bad you work on it. If you can't fix it, you end it properly. Do you remember Bill Clinton and Monica? And yes, I want to make a big deal over a couple of hundred bucks. The bucks didn't belong to Rudy. People have a right to expect politicians to pay for personal expenses out of their private funds, not taxpayer funds. This is about character and honesty. A man who lies and cheats in his personal life will lie and cheat in his professional life.

Shut up. This was a month after 9-11. There would be good reason for there to be security for his girlfriend at that point in time, given the situation and Giuliani’s position. I’m not even supporting him, but this is a pointless hit.

ROFL. That's a good one.

Rudy is toast.

But even Bill Clinton didn't give Monica a chauffeur.

No, he only had Bill Richardson and Vernon Jordon lining up jobs for her at the UN and Revlon.

No thanks.
