So you are. It wasn’t just a ploy to get me to donate to Duncan Hunter, was it? ;-)

I just read the following piece, and though I don’t understand the JBS, it’s a good take on the last debate.

What would it take to get a debate among only the 2nd tier candidates so the public might actually get to hear them for once?

CNN Ignores Ron Paul, Tom Tancredo, and Duncan Hunter

http://www.jbs.org/node/6461

As I watched the CNN YouTube debate last night, I had one regret: I didn’t have a stopwatch. I had the distinct feeling while watching the “debate” that it was being skewered in favor of certain candidates. A stopwatch would have been handy to check my assumption.

Fortunately, I see that someone else was thinking the same way. MSNBC posted “the counts for how long each candidate spoke during the first part of the debate,” as compiled by NBC staffer Lauren Appelbaum. Surprise, surprise, the results show that Mitt Romney was given the longest exposure.

It is interesting that it was Romney who was in the spotlight, given his inability to say anything of substance. Aside from his very clear and seemingly convincing statement that he was wrong to have taken the pro-abortion side of the abortion debate once in the past, his answers to questions during the debate were vague and devoid of content. He was a blank slate on which voters could project their own image of what they might be looking for in a president. This is troubling: He may have firmed up his pro-life stance, but he is still too wishy-washy to be president.

Coming in second in terms of time allotted during the first half of the debate was John McCain, who was in a virtual tie with Rudy Giuliani. They may as well be tied, since they’re virtually interchangeable. And, as an aside, can we stop taking McCain seriously? The guy actually suggested last night, in response to Ron Paul, that America was responsible for Hitler coming to power. Please, Senator McCain, retire from politics and pick up a history book!

After that it was the rumbling, bumbling, stumbling Fred Thompson followed by Mike Huckabee, Ron Paul, Tom Tancredo, and Duncan Hunter.

NBC’s Appelbaum quips that “Huckabee did not get a chance to speak until 26 minutes into the debate and Paul did not get his chance until more than a half hour into the debate.”

Huckabee got more time later on, but the real shame of the debate, as with previous debates, is that Rudy McRomney again got all the attention while Ron Paul, Tom Tancredo and Duncan Hunter were ignored in comparison. The members of the latter trio differ on some issues — as one might expect. But what they have in common is a serious, well-considered, well-informed adult outlook on the issues.

It is possible that viewers might disagree with some of the various positions taken by Paul, Hunter, and Tancredo. But what everyone should like about these three is that they are obviously capable of thinking for themselves and are seemingly unafraid to stand by their conclusions, even in the face of sustained opposition.

By comparison, the other sound-bite candidates are children, subservient to peer pressure, just going along to get along. By focusing on them, CNN is doing a severe disservice to all Americans.

The time is now.

If 10,000 supporters gave $1,000 to the Hunter campaign that would add up to $10,000,000. Now, that’s a bit high to expect right now, but even if those 10,000 (let’s remember, Ron Paul has about 25,000 by my estimates, so 10,000 is not that much of a stretch) sent in as little as $100 that would add up to $1,000,000, plenty of money if you’re not bothering with Iowa and New Hampshire.

It won’t be easy, and time is of the essence, but it’s not over. Send your money now, tell your friends about Hunter, and we still have a real shot here.

36 days until Wyoming. 46 to Michigan. 50 to South Carolina. These are the states to watch.

There probably will be a debate among the so-called “2nd tier”—when the networks finally decide they’ve got enough cover to start eliminating people and just put on the Rudy McRomney show. It would be interesting to compare the ratings of a “First Tier” debate versus a “Second Tier” debate. If only we could trust the MSM to be honest about it.

Welcome Back!

Just another update for all Hunter fans.

I couldn’t belive it On a local Boston moring show this morning (Finneran’s Forum) the host, a Dem hack actually gave a lot of play to Hunter, his performance in the debate, played tons of cuts - and admitted that this guy is the most direct, honest, and proven conservative in the race.

Granted, most people can’t stand listening to this show - but the guy does show glimmers of honesty (and is not beholden to the establishment - GOP or DEM)

The questions were weighted to certain people, but some of the disparity was that they let the inter-player squabbles go on, and gave candidates response time when they were mentioned. Since a lot of candidates attacked Romney, he got a lot of response time.

As Rush pointed out yesterday, nobody really attacked Fred during the debate, which limited his time. Was that a strategy to marginalize him? I don’t know. But the format of the debate dictated the outcome to some degree.

Being a congressman seems a political disadvantage to me

2-3 years ago all I heard was that being a senator was a non-starter in a presidential election.

I guess peanut farmers and actors are the big draw. Oh...and socialist governors/mayors.

I know it’s just before Christmas, but the most important gift we can give the entire country including you, me, and that fellow behind the tree, is a hefty contribution to the one man qualified and capable of keeping us free, Duncan Hunter.

Please, cut him a check of at least $100, even $250 or more TODAY.

To give his campaign the full contribution (the credit cards skim 5% off the top!), write your check to: Hunter for President, and send it to:

Go Hunter 08
9340 Fuerte Dr., Suite 302
La Mesa, CA 91941

Please include information regarding your occupation,, your employer, your telephone number and that of your place of business.

Request bumper stickers, and mailer cards to send out (postage out of pocket to mail these is only 27 cents each).

Time is growing short. We must unite behind the best there is to support and vote for the only candidate who can deliver, GO DUNCAN HUNTER!

Thank you so much.

This debate was a total setup for the Repubs. (and not a very stealth one at that)

Future debates should either be on Fox or moderated by conservative orgs. We obviously can’t trust MSM to do the right thing.
