"Make no mistake, perjury is a felony, and its commission by a President may sometimes constitute high crimes and misdemeanors. But is removal appropriate when the President lied about whether he was refreshing his recollection or coaching a witness about the nature of a sexual relationship? Is removal appropriate when the President lied to the grand jury that he denied to his aides that he had engaged in sex only as he had defined it, when in fact he had denied engaging in oral sex? Is removal warranted because the President stated that his relationship began as a friendship in the wrong year and actually encompassed more telephone encounters than could truthfully be described as 'occasional'? To ask the question is to answer it. In my opinion, these statements, while wrong and perhaps indictable after the President leaves office, do not justify removal of the President from office."
--Senator Fred Thompson, February 12, 1999

“Im not a liberal.”
But you are attacking the most conservative electable candidate because.....?
Hey I had forgot that, this so called conservative can’t find anyone better to run with than the UFO guy. Real conservative that Paul!
Nut Job...
Seems you are spinning Kurt
Well stated Angel
Not if Hillary is the nominee. Revisiting the Clinton impeachment would do more damage to Hillary then it would to Fred. They'll avoid it like the plague. JMHO
You’re a Mormon. And I’m going to assume a good one. I’ve done a little research on your religion lately and have found, that, like mine, the Mormon church is staunchly against abortion and homosexuality. Yet your man Mitt was for both as governor of Mass. Not just generally or philosophically for both, but strongly and materially for both, enacting laws that promoted both the murder of unborn babies and perverted, unChristian sexual behavior. It doesn’t bother you at all that you, a good Mormon, support a guy who certainly seems to this outside observer, to be a terrible Mormon?
Good point. Not only will Hillary not revisit the impeachment, none of the Dems will. None will want the “Dems are morally corrupt” idea in peoples’ minds going into the voting booth.
As usual you have expressed it all in as few words as necessary.
Details, details, who cares, Mitt is Pretty...
I like things simple.

Or Huckabee supporters. This charge against Thompson has been debunked, and the correction has been posted here ad nauseum for the past six months or so.
I completely agree FT. If Hillary is the nominee, they can no-way bring this up. And if they do, it is nothing but win-win.
I honestly don’t get it. I say that as a Catholic who didn’t support John Kerry and doesn’t support Giuliani because, among the 3 million other good reasons not to, they were both lousy Catholics.
But Mormons seem to be giving Mitt a complete pass, and I don’t understand that. Glenn Beck is a prime example. He hasn’t come out and said he’s for Mitt, but you can tell by the way he talks that he’s leaning toward him. Beck is supposedly Mr. Morality, the reformed alcoholic who found savation in Mormonism. And yet he’s supporting a guy who had no problem eschewing basic Mormon moral principles when it was politically expedient to do so.
I don’t get it.
Nothing FRed has done even comes close to the “funny” things that the liar, used car salesman, Myth Romney has done, and is still doing.
Heaven help us all if he gets the nod!
Yep, be Afraid of Fred. Very Afraid! :)
Thompson/Hunter!
As I see it Fred would have been at home in a Blue state he don’t fool me who he is!
Ann’s statement leaves something out, therefore it is a lie by omission and is not true.
Fred voted to convict on obstruction of justice. He has never concealed this, it is by his doing out and available for public research. He hasn’t hidden anything. We’ve talked about it on FR since long before he declared. So why the big stink?
