Westminster, MD - Call for "boots on the corner", December 8th and 29th., 1:30 to 3:30.
On Dec. 29 we may be starting earlier, so watch this thread for more info. I'll try to have the Mods update the title with the Post that has new info.
Westminster is located on MD Rte. 97 just 6 miles from the Pennsylvania State Line.
When you get into Westminster, turn left on Main Street and go 1 mile to the library at 50 E. Main Street.
If you are coming from Frederick, MD area, take I-70 towards Baltimore to MD Rte. 27 North. When you get to Main Street, turn right and we are 1/2 block in.
Due to some questionable permitting by the police for the moonbats, GoE and FR has been split up into 3 sections. Our regular position is occupied by the moonbats. So we need additional Troop Supporters to help hold signs in our three areas.
Some other questionable permits were given to the moonbats for our space even though they do not protest on those dates. I guess only moonbats get freedom of speech.
Hopefully this will be straightened out after Jan. 01
ALSO, there will NOT be a Westminster Gathering on Dec. 1st due to most Eagles being at Nanuet, NY and a store is having a grand opening that day, so no permits were granted.

Thanks Tankerbabe! Sure wish we could enjoy the pleasure of your company in Westminster more often, but we certainly understand the drive being a little too long. As Trooprally said, you have done your part and continue to do so. PMM and myself are new at this but can see why you have such a passion for what you do. It is contagious! Supporting our troops is what it’s all about and we are proud to be doing just a little something. They are the true heroes. OOORAH!

What is the object of this particular freep?
PatrioticMarineMom & RockerMom2MyHero are newbies and had never organized a FReep or been involved in FReeping. On the GoE board they asked for help and we all showed up.
PatrioticMarineMom (PMM) has endured condescending editorials from one moonbat leader, and even has had some minor difficulties with the police, though those seem to be working themselves out.
The object is to counter Women in Black and the Carroll County [Communist] Progressives, to show support of our Troops AND their Mission, and to show Westminster residents there is another voice out there. Something we did not do for our Vietnam Vets.
The anti-troop moonbats basically stand ever second and fourth Saturday in the small, historic, old town square.
Until PMM started getting permits, the moonbats never got them, though it wasn't necessary at the time. Now both sides get permits and there is a police presence.
And to plug the Olney FReep, we are on the way to Westminster. Directions to Olney and half way to Westminster are in Post 1 of every Olney thread. On several Saturdays, we FReep from 10AM (set up time) till about 11:45, then run up to Westminster. We are opposite the Quakers in Olney.
